Already Heard has once again dived into the UK’s underground DIY talent pool and delivered a unique exclusive for you all.
Modest Mates is a collaboration 2 singer-songwriters;
Nottingham born George Gadd and Birmingham based Sarah Carey. The pair share a mutual love for Modest Mouse’s seminal record ‘The Lonesome Crowded West’ and they’ve decided to get together to cover 2 tracks from the album.
‘The Lonesome Crowded West Midlands’ was recorded using just one single microphone between Gadd and Carey with the end result being an intimate, stripped back effort.
Both George Gadd and Sarah Carey will be working on new releases in the coming months. You can also see Sarah Carey support Koji and The City On Film at The Oobleck in Birmingham on February 20th. She is also part of Birmingham’s Not Cool DIY group. While George Gadd will be playing shows whenever possible in exchange for “food, cheap beer and a warm shower”, but for now you can hear their collaboration below.
