George Christie, guitarist for UK metalcore band Shields passed away earlier this week.

The Wonder Years will release their new album, ‘Sister Cities’, on April 6th.

Stone Temple Pilots have announced plans to release a self-titled on March 16th. It is the band’s first album with the new lead singer, Jeff Gutt.

Palm Reader will return with their third album, ‘Braille’, on April 6th. It will be released through Silent Cult Records.

Tremonti have signed a new worldwide record deal with Napalm Records. The band, comprised of Mark Tremonti on vocals/guitars, Eric Friedman on guitars, and Garrett Whitlock on drums, are currently working on their fourth album, ‘A Dying Machine’.

Man Mountain have joined Spartan Records. The post-rock group will release their debut full-length, ‘Infinity Mirror’, on March 16th.

Manchester punks Revenge of the Psychotronic Man have announced that the band will split at the end of the year.

Orlando rock act Hungover! have signed to Smartpunk Records, and will be re-releasing their latest EP ‘Wilt’ on March 30th with three brand new tracks.

The Sword will release their sixth studio album, ‘Used Future’, on March 23rd.

London punk rockers Screech Bats have announced that their sophomore EP, ‘Wish You Were Her’, will be self-released on 30th March.

Southampton alt-rock/post-hardcore quintet Dissonants have confirmed their new EP will be called ‘Vultures’, and is set to be released on April 20th.

Festival News

At The Drive In​ (Thursday night main stage headliners) and Enter Shikari have been announced as the first headliners for this year’s 2000 Trees Festival. Other names announced so far are Hell Is For Heroes​, Creeper, Basement, Boston Manor, Touché Amoré, Black Foxxes, Arcane Roots, Turbowolf, Gold Key, Conjurer, SHVPES, Loathe, Holding Absence, Chapter & Verse and Holiday Oscar.

The first 15 bands for ArcTanGent 2018 have been announced. And So I Watch You From Afar will headline the Thursday night where they perform their fifth album, ‘The Endless Shimmering’ in full. Massachusetts experimental math rock Giraffes? Giraffes! will make their European debut at the festival. Other names announced today are Foxing, Pianos Become The Teeth, Jamie Lenman, Alpha Male Tea Party, Talons, Tangled Hair, Gulfer, Rolo Tomassi, Bossk, Svalbard, Body Hound, Gallops and GUG.

Steel Panther have been announced the main stage special guests for the Ramblin’ Man Fair. While American rock trio The Cadillac Three have also been announced for the festival.

Outbreak Fest have announced Turnstile as its first headliner for 2018. Other names announced this week are Cro-Mags, Floorpunch, Angel Du$t, Fury, Jesus Piece, Big Cheese and X Servitude X. It will take place at Canal Mills in Leeds on June 16th and 17th.

The final names for the Manchester Punk Festival have been announced:
