FESTIVAL PREVIEW: HEVY FEST 2014 - 10 MUST-SEE BANDS
After taking a break last year, Hevy Fest is back for 2014 and even though it’s downsized
from 3 days to 2, there still loads of awesome bands on offer. With over 40 bands playing
over the 2 days, there’s bound to be some clashes. Already Heard is here to give you 10
must-see bands to see at Hevy Fest next month.

Influenced by the likes of Jimmy Eat World, Saves The Day and The Get Up Kids, Sheffield quartet O Captain have bucket loads of potential of their debut EP is anything to go from. Entitled 'Ghetto Hikes', the bands lyrical sentiment mixed with a stirring indie-pop sensibility quickly won us over. We spoke to bassist Ryan Smith to find out more about the band, their influences, what Sheffield bands we should be listening to and more.

Even though we love our Stateside friends, our main goal here at Already Heard to showcase and highlight the best in established and emerging UK bands.

As a result of this, each week we bring you a concise round-up of news from America.

Nevertheless we will continue to work with bands from overseas in a variety of other ways; reviews, interviews, live photos, acoustic sessions, features and more.

On this week’s round-up there is new songs from likes of Coheed & Cambria, The Swellers, Converge, Troubled Coast, and Direct Hit. Whilst As I Lay Dying, Handguns and Aficionado are streaming their latest releases.

In addition there’s new videos from Green Day and Balance & Composure and details of new releases from Bad Brains, Alkaline Trio and more.

Coheed & Cambria posted the title track from their forthcoming album 'The Afterman'.

Iconic Punk band Bad Brains will release 'Into the Future' on November 19th via Megaforce. Stream the title track here.

Green Day's music video for 'Stay The Night' has been released.

As I Lay Dying are streaming their new album 'Awakened' online.

The Swellers posted a new song called 'Hands.'

Alkaline Trio have begun recording their new album with Bill Stevenson of Descendents.

Balance and Composure released the video for ‘Quake’.

Converge have released another track from their new album 'All We Love We Leave Behind.’ 'Time's Arrow' can be streamed here.

Troubled Coast have previewed another track from their new album 'Awake and Empty'1967’ can be listened to here. 'Awake and Empty' is released on October 9th on Pure Noise Records.

Direct Hit have posted a new song called 'Fallout Shelter Television'. The track will appear on their forthcoming split 7” with The Haverchucks.

'Angst' the new album from Handguns is streaming online.

Empire! Empire! (I Was a Lonely Estate) giving away their entire catalog away for free via Bandcamp for one week.

Aficionado's new EP 'Empty' is streaming here.

'Paranoia,' a new song from Texas In July can be heard on Alternative Press.

A new song from Run, Forever, 'Drop Out' can be streamed here. The track appears from their forthcoming album 'Settling' available soon on Tiny Engines.

West End Motel (Mastodon guitarist Brent Hinds) will release their second album 'Only Time Can Tell' on October 30th. The first single ‘Burn It Down’ can be heard here.

Deep Elm Records will release ‘Caves’ the third full-length album from Canadian The Sky Life on October 17th.

Pull Strings' new EP 'The Upside Of Going Blind' is set to be released through Better Days Records later this year.

McAllen, TX indie rock outfit Sick/Sea have unveiled the music video for the track 'Robot'. The track can be downloaded for free here.
