12 months from releasing their debut EP, we speak to Blackpool pop-punk/emo
quintet Boston Manor to discuss their influences, achievements so far and thoughts on their contemporaries.
With their latest EP 'Change Nothing, Regret Everything.', Woking five-piece Employed To Serve have produced 12 minutes of frantic, unrelenting hardcore that finds the band somewhere between The Dillinger Escape Plan and The Chariot. We spoke to Justine from the band to find out how the band has transitioned from a duo to a quintet and
she discussed being part of the Holy Roar! roster, they chaotic yet contained live shows and more.
In the latest edition of our "Tour Tales" feature, Irish doom-punk band Hornets talk us
through their recent UK tour where they played 8 shows in 7 days.

The latest EP from Eindhoven four-piece Call It Off offers five slices of pure, feelgood three-chord pop-punk that pays homage to US acts such as Green Day and Alkaline Trio.
We caught up with vocalist/guitarist Maurice Bolier to find out more.
On April 7th, Bristol trio Red Seas Fire release 'Confrontation', the second part of their
'Mise En Scène’ EP trilogy. It's four-tracks of dominating riffs, melodic layers, and sonic ambience. Find out what it is all about directly from the band.

Radstock Festival Announces Major Line-up Alteration

The organisers behind the Radstock Festival have changed altered the lineup to the festival with several bands axed from the festival including Kids In Glass Houses, The Hype Theory, Bleed From Within, Decade and Brutality Will Prevail.

The festival will now split 13 bands from the original line-up and split them across two days.

Nevertheless the likes of Funeral For A Friend, Yashin, Canterbury, Feed The Rhino and Fearless Vampire Killers are scheduled to play.

Original tickets will be valid for both dates at each venue (Liverpool and Newcastle) but refunds are available.

A statement explaining the changes can be found below.

“Radstock 2014 today announces that there are changes to the billing of the festival in Liverpool and Newcastle across the weekend of Saturday 29th / Sunday 30th March.

13 core artists from the original line-up will now be split across the two days, with both cities now hosting two shows each with a rotating bill.

The line-up is as follows:

Saturday 29th March Liverpool / Sunday 30th March Newcastle:
Funeral For A Friend, Feed The Rhino, Hacktivist, Heart Of A Coward, Heights, Rough Hands, and Cytota.

Saturday 29th March Newcastle / Sunday 30th March Liverpool:
Yashin, Canterbury, Fearless Vampire Killers, LostAlone, Verses, and Bentley Park.

Unfortunately, that means a portion of the bands originally advertised are now unable to play the festival, but we’ve done our utmost to retain as many acts as possible and still deliver a bill that our audience will be excited about.

Everyone at Radstock 2014 sincerely apologises for any disappointment and inconvenience this may cause, and appreciates your cooperation and understanding.

We hope that you’ll still enjoy what we think are two great bills of fantastic home-grown music.

Original weekend tickets remain valid for entry to both shows, though any dissatisfied ticket holders are entitled to receive a full refund from their point of purchase.”

Live Review: Black Veil Brides, Chiodos, Tonight Alive and Fearless Vampire Killers - Academy 1, Manchester - 04/02/2013

imageDue to the standard concoction of last minute drives, Manchester parking, and incredibly early doors unfortunately we miss Fearless Vampire Killers, arriving just in time to see the last few people shell out £16 for tickets. However, the room is still buzzing from their set when Tonight Alive take the stage to serve up some well rehearsed pop rock and set the crowd well and truly going. Singer Jenna McDougall commands the stage and has the crowd eating out of her hand from the off. Despite sounding like they’re playing in a tin can – presumably the sound guy is taking advantage of the young crowd providing a queue free bar – and the fact that McDougall looks like a primary school choir girl singing along to her songs in full robotic fashion, Tonight Alive put on a good show. There’s nothing groundbreaking on display here but it’s a strong set and difficult to argue with. The band clearly love it, the crowd love it, and despite a frightening overuse of vocal delay and demands that the crowd ‘give us those horns’ the band provide exactly what the tin says: well-intentioned, inoffensive pop rock and roll.
