As the festival season rolls on, this weekend the Hit The Deck Festival returns for its fourth outing. As always with over 40 bands playing across 6 stages, the Already Heard team has picked out 10 must-see bands to see at this weekend’s festival.
This Saturday the 2014 edition of Record Store Day takes place. With wealth of rare
releases to buy, Already Heard and Jon Tolley of Banquet Records have picked out 5 must by RSD 2014 releases.
Next week Philadelphia indie punks The Menzingers release, 'Rented World,' one of the
highly anticipated records of 2014 so far. In parts, it picks up where 2012's 'On The
Impossible Past' left off but it also shows the bands growth as songwriters and musicians. We recently spoke to Greg Barnett to discuss the album, the pressure of following up 'On The Impossible Past', their forthcoming London show and the Grozerock Festival.
Despite only forming last year, Essex rockers New City Kings have already gathered plenty of attention from their debut EP - 'Change.' Their radio-friendly rock sound that has seen them compared to a range of bands; Foo Fighters, Deaf Havana, and The Gaslight Anthem.
Already Heard spoke to Mark Kovic to find out more about New City Kings.
With their return to the UK imminent, the latest edition of "Versus" sees us putting the
focus on Alkaline Trio. Self-confessed Trio MEGA fan Jay Sullivan tells us why 'From
Here to Infirmary' is the band’s finest work. Whilst Alex Phelan explains how 'Maybe
I'll Catch Fire' is a superb example of musical catharsis.
12 months from releasing their debut EP, we speak to Blackpool pop-punk/emo
quintet Boston Manor to discuss their influences, achievements so far and thoughts on their contemporaries.
With their latest EP 'Change Nothing, Regret Everything.', Woking five-piece Employed
To Serve have produced 12 minutes of frantic, unrelenting hardcore that finds the band somewhere between The Dillinger Escape Plan and The Chariot. We spoke to Justine from the band to find out how the band has transitioned from a duo to a quintet and she discussed
being part of the Holy Roar! roster, they chaotic yet contained live shows and more.
In the latest edition of our "Tour Tales" feature, Irish doom-punk band Hornets talk us
through their recent UK tour where they played 8 shows in 7 days.
Leeds-based four-piece Walleater are set to digitally release their debut self titled EP next Monday (14th April) through Close To Home Records. We've got the exclusive first play
right here on Already Heard.

“Radstock 2014 today announces that there are changes to the billing of the festival in Liverpool and Newcastle across the weekend of Saturday 29th / Sunday 30th March.
13 core artists from the original line-up will now be split across the two days, with both cities now hosting two shows each with a rotating bill.
The line-up is as follows:
Saturday 29th March Liverpool / Sunday 30th March Newcastle:

Unfortunately, that means a portion of the bands originally advertised are now unable to play the festival, but we’ve done our utmost to retain as many acts as possible and still deliver a bill that our audience will be excited about.
Everyone at Radstock 2014 sincerely apologises for any disappointment and inconvenience this may cause, and appreciates your cooperation and understanding.
We hope that you’ll still enjoy what we think are two great bills of fantastic home-grown music.
Original weekend tickets remain valid for entry to both shows, though any dissatisfied ticket holders are entitled to receive a full refund from their point of purchase.”

Live Review: Black Veil Brides, Chiodos, Tonight Alive and Fearless Vampire Killers - Academy 1, Manchester - 04/02/2013
Due to the standard concoction of last minute drives, Manchester parking, and incredibly early doors unfortunately we miss Fearless Vampire Killers, arriving just in time to see the last few people shell out £16 for tickets. However, the room is still buzzing from their set when Tonight Alive take the stage to serve up some well rehearsed pop rock and set the crowd well and truly going. Singer Jenna McDougall commands the stage and has the crowd eating out of her hand from the off. Despite sounding like they’re playing in a tin can – presumably the sound guy is taking advantage of the young crowd providing a queue free bar – and the fact that McDougall looks like a primary school choir girl singing along to her songs in full robotic fashion, Tonight Alive put on a good show. There’s nothing groundbreaking on display here but it’s a strong set and difficult to argue with. The band clearly love it, the crowd love it, and despite a frightening overuse of vocal delay and demands that the crowd ‘give us those horns’ the band provide exactly what the tin says: well-intentioned, inoffensive pop rock and roll. (3/5)
Fearless Vampire Killers have teamed up with acclaimed Italian comic artist Marco Turini to illustrate a front cover for one of the bands forthcoming comics, written by the bands co-lead vocalist, Laurence Beveridge.
The comic is titled ‘The Vigilante’ and will be the first of five comics that will tie in with the release of the bands forthcoming 'Exposition: The Five Before The Flames' CD.
The comics will be released throughout 2013/2014 with contributions from both well-known and up and coming artists.
In addition the band will be appearing alongside Marco Turini at the London Super Comic Convention on February 24th. They will be signing numbered limited edition art prints of the front cover.
‘Exposition: The Five Before The Flames’ is released on March 11th.
Fearless Vampire Killers have announced they will release a 5-track released titled 'Exposition: The Five Before The Flames' on March 11th.
The release is a prequel to this year’s 'Militia Of The Lost' album and is set to tell the five backstories of the characters behind the band.
The five songs are each written by the individual band members, and are set to offer more insight into the story of Fearless Vampire Killers.
