This past summer, Joyce Manor debuted a track called ‘All My Friends Are So Depressed’. The Californian punk trio have revealed details of a new album. It’s called ‘I Used To Go To This Bar’ and will be released on January 30th, 2026, via Epitaph Records.

Produced by label boss, Brett Gurewitz, ‘I Used To Go To This Bar‘s nine songs promise to tap into Joyce Manor‘s assured short-and-sweet songcraft.

“When it comes to our musical DNA, he’s one of the architects of everything we grew up on. Having him guide our record helped us make something that we could put next to those classic records that shaped us,” shares vocalist/guitarist Barry Johnson. Gurewitz returns the praise, saying the band is “among the most important bands of the last two decades.”

The record also features a rotating cast of drummers consisting of touring drummer Jared Shavelson, Social Distortion’s David Hildago, Jr., and current Oasis touring drummer Joey Waronker.

In addition to detailing ‘I Used To Go To This Bar,’  Joyce Manor have shared the album’s second single – ‘Well, Whatever It Was’. Coming at just over two minutes, the track highlights the Californian trio’s tendency to produce short and melodically rich cuts.

“‘Well, Whatever It Was’ has got to be one of the most Southern California-sounding songs ever recorded. I hear Jane’s Addiction in the verses, Beach Boys / Weezer in the chorus, and RHCP in the outro. It was LITERALLY produced by the guy from Bad Religion FFS. Everyone was just firing on all cylinders for this one,” says Barry Johnson. “Joey Waronker’s drumming, TLA’s mix, and Lenny Castro’s percussion all just sent it to the end-zone. This song would go insanely hard in a Shrek film.”

Furthermore, its video is worth watching too. Directed by Lance Bangs (Jackass), it sees Joyce Manor take part in the grand final of ‘The UK Rock Bake Off’. It sees them compete against the likes of “Liam and Noel Gallagher”, The Cure’s “Robert Smith,” “Morrissey” and “Kate Bush”.

Joyce Manor will be back in the UK this month for headline shows, which will feature support from Tigers JawOso Oso, and Ways Away. They will also be part of the Common Thread tour.
