Emerging Oxfordshire quintet Lastelle continue to preview their upcoming ‘Exist – vol ii’ EP. The latest cut from the EP is a track called ‘The Silence Hurts The Most II’.

Serving as a sequel to part I that appeared on their 2019 ‘Harrow’ EP, the track highlights Lastelle‘s proficiency in combining impassioned post-hardcore with serene post-rock. The finished product sees ‘The Silence Hurts The Most II’ serving as a stunning finale to ‘Exist – Vol ii’ with a cinematic undertone.

“Ever since the conception of Silence part 1, on our first EP, there was always a possibility of revisiting this story,” says guitarist Jonjo Williams of the affecting cut. “It is a song driven by the same narrative as part 1, but it follows a different character’s perspective during/after the car crash. We wrote the instrumental and discussed where it felt each “scene” of the narrative would start and end and then built the lyrics around that, tying in repeating themes from part 1.”

Lastelle have also released a live session video for the track.

The release of ‘Exist – vol ii’ on September 12th (via You Rang? Records) will be followed by a UK headline tour. Lastelle will also be playing festivals in the months before and after the tour.
