UK alt-rock\/emo outfit\u00a0Guillotine<\/strong> have returned after six years away. With a new line-up in place, the Southern-based band have shared two new songs, ‘Does It Make You Feel’<\/em> and ‘Half As Bright’<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Capturing the emotive yearn of bands such as\u00a0Manchester Orchestra<\/strong>, ‘Does It Make You Feel’<\/em> sees the quintet deliver a pensive track with ringing guitars and soaring vocals. ‘Half As Bright’\u00a0<\/em>serves as a punchier offering yet with vocals that hit as raw. The use of atmosphere gives way to a riveting and impassioned finale.<\/p>\n

Commenting on the two new tracks, the band shared:<\/p>\n

“These songs are from a place of painful nostalgia. A yearning for a time that was, whilst knowing that given the opportunity, you\u2019d never return to it.\u00a0<\/em>
\nEverything felt about that time is there in the songs.<\/em><\/p>\n

There is an optimism there. These songs are not a sob-story.<\/em><\/p>\n

They\u2019re not a eulogy, but a reminder to always be grateful, never taking anything precious for granted.<\/em><\/p>\n

We\u2019ve all loved and we\u2019ve all lost.<\/em><\/p>\n

Guillotine\u00a0<\/strong>first emerged in late 2016 through a mysterious campaign of intriguing\u00a0e-mails and social media posts. Their debut EP,\u00a0‘Sapphire,’<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>was released in February 2017. They would follow it with a three-track EP called\u00a0‘Weakness’<\/em> the next year, before going on hiatus in 2019.<\/p>\n
