Due for release on January 30th, 2026,\u00a0<em>&#8216;When A Flower Doesn\u2019t Grow&#8217;<\/em> will be released through\u00a0<strong>Easy Life Records<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Described as the sibling pair&#8217;s\u00a0<em>&#8220;boldest and most vulnerable work yet,&#8221;\u00a0<\/em>its 11 tracks promise to take listeners on a journey of self-discovery for Mercedes and Phoenix Arn-Horn.\u00a0 <em>\u201cI was rootbound. I was disappearing, shrinking, withering away,\u201d<\/em> explains vocalist Mercedes.<em> \u201cThe truth is, nothing can thrive in an environment where it is stifled.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>With themes of trauma, disillusionment, empowerment, and eventual liberation scattered through the album, it was written during a period of upheaval. It results in the Ontario-based duo writing an unflinching collection that spans grunge, shoegaze, and alt-rock.<\/p>\n<p>The album&#8217;s latest single,\u00a0<em>&#8217;16\/25&#8242;,<\/em> follows\u00a0<strong>Softcult<\/strong>&#8216;s other singles that have been released throughout 2025;\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/K-V6C9290_g\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>&#8216;Naive,&#8217;<\/em><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/76z_Iph37xg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><i>&#8216;Pill To Swallow&#8217;<\/i><\/a>.
