This week’s\u00a0#NewMusicFriday<\/strong> list is once again a long one. It’s led by new albums from Biffy Clyro<\/strong>,\u00a0Motion City Soundtrack<\/strong>, and\u00a0I Prevail<\/strong>. All return with a point to prove. For the Scottish arena rockers,\u00a0‘Futique’<\/em> gives\u00a0Biffy<\/strong> a chance to prove their longevity as they release their 10th album. While they might not want to call it a comeback,\u00a0‘The Same Old Wasted Wonderful<\/em> World’ by Motion City Soundtrack\u00a0<\/strong>is the sound of a band reinvigorated. Meanwhile, Michigan metalcore group,\u00a0I Prevail,<\/strong> start a new chapter on\u00a0‘Violent Nature,’\u00a0<\/em>as Eric Vanlerberghe steps up to the role as the sole frontman.<\/p>\n

When it comes to up-and-coming names, Nashville-based pop-rockers Arrows In Action<\/strong> have high aspirations as they deliver ‘I Think I’ve Been Here Before’<\/em> in full. Likewise, Peterborough band\u00a0 Lonesome<\/strong> deliver a stunning and cinematic collection of emo\/post-hardcore with\u00a0‘In the Hope This Finds You’<\/em>. For fans of blackgaze,\u00a0‘All Is Far Away’<\/em> from \u00c6l-Fierlen<\/strong> is worth checking out. It’s sprawling four tracks find balance between Stephanie Moffatt’s ethereal harmonies and towering post-metal instrumentation.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere,\u00a0 Wicca Phase Springs Eternal\u00a0<\/strong>pivots towards folk and alt-country on\u00a0‘Mossy Oak Shadow’<\/em>. Canadian metallers\u00a0Kittie<\/strong> celebrate 25 years of their album,\u00a0‘Spit,’<\/em> by re-recording four of its standout tracks. There are also new releases from\u00a0Bad Wolves<\/strong>,\u00a0Bones Shredder<\/strong>,\u00a0KennyHoopla<\/strong>,\u00a0 Paradise Lost<\/strong>,\u00a0Igorrr<\/strong>,\u00a0SCUSTIN<\/strong>,\u00a0A Killer’s Confession<\/strong>, and more.<\/p>\n
