It&#8217;s the latest track to be shared from their newly announced EP,\u00a0<em>&#8216;A Storm Lined With Silver&#8217;<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Serving as an anthemic and cathartic statement, <em>&#8216;Stuck&#8217;<\/em> captures\u00a0<strong>Vower<\/strong>&#8216;s urgency and intricate musicianship to a tee. Josh McKeown&#8217;s impressive vocals lead the charge as his bandmates deliver a bombastic sound that comes off as controlled chaos.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8216;Stuck&#8217;<\/em> is the fourth track to be heard from\u00a0<em>&#8216;A Storm Lined With Silver,&#8217;\u00a0<\/em>following <em>&#8216;Deadweight,&#8217;<\/em> <em>&#8216;Moth Becomes the Flame,&#8217;<\/em> and <a href=\"https:\/\/alreadyheard.com\/staging\/vower-satellites\/\"><em>&#8216;Satellites.&#8217;<\/em><\/a> As a productive unit,\u00a0<strong>Vower<\/strong> are far from stuck. It sees the duo of Jen Hingley and Josh Sellers add an indie-pop touch to their assured grunge-infused alt-rock sound. It results in having a solid rhymic foundation that is complemented by a rising melody and rose-tinted piano keys.<\/p>\n<p>However, despite its sunny disposition, lyrically, <em>&#8216;The Sorry Window&#8217;<\/em> is bittersweet and tinged with regret. It&#8217;s a fitting notion to have as the nights draw in and another summer ends.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the track is taken from what <strong>False Advertising<\/strong> describe as &#8220;a larger body of work&#8221;. Amongst them is\u00a0<strong>Profiler<\/strong>. Their latest cut,\u00a0<em>&#8216;Luciferian,&#8217;\u00a0<\/em>firmly lives in nu-metal territory. thanks to its record scratches, grungy guitars, and rap-sung vocals<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;&#8216;Luciferian&#8217; is the sister song lyrically to <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/19DTqQ-fJqM\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&#8216;Dope&#8217;<\/a>. While Will Yip (Turnstile, Superheaven) mastered the record. Its 10 tracks are a mix of sharp, grunge-laden alt-alt rock anthems and softer, dreamier tracks. Songs such as\u00a0<em>&#8216;Sorrow Again&#8217;<\/em> and\u00a0<em>&#8216;Slow Saturday&#8217;<\/em> have a vintage &#8217;90s quality to them. Longtime frontman Jason Yarger is now the sole member, allowing its 15 songs to have that extra personal touch. One of its standout tracks is the catchy <em>&#8216;Tired of U&#8217;<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>It captures Yarger&#8217;s musically playful side while lyrically lamenting his inability to smoke weed or consistently sleep. With its syncopated drums and saccharine synths, it&#8217;s a springy earworm that begs to be played repeatedly.\u00a0<em>\u201cI had a demo of this one that was like 20 seconds long, and Kevin [Grimmet] (former Hunny bassist) said I should make it a song. I was like, \u201cReally? You like that one?\u201d It\u2019s about me not being able to smoke weed. It&#8217;s so unfortunate,&#8221;<\/em> Jason shares.<em> &#8220;I\u2019m telling my brain, \u201cI wish you would let me sleep just like a normal person.\u201d I wish I could have a little pen next to my bed like everybody and just take a little puff and snooze. I have very bad insomnia; I have since I was a little kid. When I was like seven, I was getting out of bed at night and going into our front room and watching, like, Three&#8217;s Company and shit in the middle of the night. I\u2019d go into the kitchen and make myself a root beer float and watch TV until four in the morning.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8216;SPIRIT!&#8217;\u00a0<\/em>jumps around power-pop, hooky post-punk, gleaming synths, and swaggering indie rock (such as <em>&#8216;i can see my house from here&#8217;<\/em>) with a lyrically observant eye. It&#8217;s a sharp, cold, and steely offering that serves as a reintroduction\u00a0<span style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\">for<strong> Ventenner<\/strong><\/span>. After moving away from the hustle and bustle of life in London, Charlie Dawe relocated to rural Suffolk and, in short, got his shit together. Sparked by reinvigorated purpose, he began writing new <strong>Ventenner<\/strong> material.<\/p>\n<p>Although Dawe is now the only member,\u00a0<em>&#8216;Solvent&#8217;<\/em> highlights his indistinctive approach. Dawe calls the track\u00a0<em>&#8220;creatively very exposed.&#8221;\u00a0<\/em>He expands by saying, <em>&#8220;It&#8217;s\u00a0a very direct approach to making a feeling into a song. It&#8217;s full of contrasts and honesty, musically and lyrically. And that comes from not putting it through any kind of filter or second-guessing the process.
