Another packed #NewMusicFriday<\/strong> sees nearly 70 releases spanning rock, emo, metalcore, hardcore, metal, and beyond.<\/p>\n

Among today’s releases is the impressive second album from “post-emo” outfit\u00a0Ben Quad<\/strong>. You can read more about\u00a0‘Wisher’<\/em> here<\/a>. While a pair of emo “godfathers” deliver new releases. First, The Get Up Kids<\/strong>‘ Matt Pryor\u00a0<\/strong>returns with a vulnerable solo record in\u00a0‘The Salton Sea’<\/em>. It sees him candidly document his realisation of addiction and the recovery. Meanwhile,\u00a0Jimmy Eat World<\/strong>‘s\u00a0‘Something(s) Loud’<\/em>\u00a0compiles their sporadic single releases since 2019’s\u00a0‘Surviving<\/em>‘ album onto<\/span>\u00a0vinyl.<\/p>\n

Two of metalcore’s established heavyweights, Of Mice & Men<\/strong> and\u00a0The Devil Wears Prada<\/strong>, deliver new albums with ‘Another Miracle’<\/em> and\u00a0‘Flowers’<\/em> respectively. Meanwhile, up-and-coming Germans Avralize<\/strong> fuse metacore hooks, electronic textures, and tech metal on their debut album, ‘Liminal’<\/em>. Fellow Europeans, Parisian crossover\u00a0mob Rise<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0of the<\/strong> Northstar<\/strong>, mash together metal, hardcore, rap and hip-hop with ‘<\/em>Chapter 04: Red Falcon Super Battle! Neo Paris War!!’<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

When it comes to homegrown UK releases, there are a handful of notable releases. Vower<\/strong>‘s second EP, ‘A Storm Lined With Silver’<\/em> picks up where last year’s debut outing left off (review here<\/a>). Hotly tipped hardcore outfit False Reality<\/strong> look set to continue to ride a wave of momentum with debut album, ‘Faded Intentions’.\u00a0<\/em>There is also new music from\u00a0The Hunna<\/strong>,\u00a0The Hyena Kill<\/strong>, and versatile alt-metal newcomers,\u00a0PREYRS<\/strong>. A special mention has to be given to Small Pond Records’<\/strong> ‘Emerging Vol. V’<\/em> compilation. It sees the Brighton-based label highlight young bands and artists from the surrounding errors with a versatile mix of sounds and styles.<\/p>\n
