It&#8217;s a track called <i>&#8216;Hive Mind&#8217;<\/i> and sees the Kentucky quintet team up with <b>Denzel Curry<\/b>. Together, they deliver an intense offering of metallic hardcore, with <b>Curry<\/b>&#8216;s bars seamlessly being placed with Bryan Garris&#8217; barbed screams.<\/p>\n<p><b>Denzel Curry<\/b> is no stranger to the world of rock and metal, having previously gone viral for his cover of <b>Rage Against The Machine<\/b>&#8216;s <i>&#8216;Bulls On Parade&#8217;<\/i>. He&#8217;s also currently on a UK and European tour supporting <b>Deftones<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>The video for <i>&#8216;Hive Mind&#8217;<\/i> sees <b>Knocked Loose<\/b> and <b>Curry<\/b> perform at the David Armstrong Extreme Park, in the band&#8217;s hometown of Kentucky. As Garris explains, the collaboration is something that has been in the making for sometime. &gt;i?&#8221;This is something we&#8217;ve talked about doing for a long time. We wondered if we could pull it off and who would be down. In the very beginning, we said for it to work, it would have to be Denzel Curry. It is the second trac to be lifted from their upcoming <i>&#8216;Thorns&#8217;<\/i> EP, which is set for release on April 10th via Bandcamp. It will be released on our platforms a week later.<\/p>\n<p>Known for their emotional quiet\/loud dynamic, <i>&#8216;(Not in My Name)&#8217;<\/i> maintains this approach with lyrical intensity. It sees vocalist\/guitarist Iain Gorrie consider the emptiness of political rhetoric and the gap between words and action.\u00a0<em>\u201c\u2018(Not In My Name)\u2019 highlights the hollowness I often perceive in political speeches and discourse; that there are certain things that almost shouldn\u2019t need to be said, and then when they are, it feels like there\u2019s no substance or action to back those words up,\u201d<\/em> says Iain.<\/p>\n<p>The accompanying video reinforces this message through its visual choices. <em>&#8220;With the video for &#8221;38&#8242; being very cinematic, with &#8216;(Not in My Name)&#8217; we wanted to stick to a more performance-based video,&#8221;<\/em> Gorrie explains. <em>&#8220;Our good friend, videographer and &#8216;I, The Lion&#8217; singer, Chris Evans, suggested using mirrors as the main aesthetic, and we quite liked that we could metaphorically hold these mirrors up to the main character in the song, who is using their platform to publicly denounce the actions of others whilst doing nothing to actually counter such actions; &#8216;mirroring&#8217; the kind of posturing we often see from politicians in the House of Commons.
