Poison The Well \u2013 Peace In Place<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

March rumbles on with another round of\u00a0#NewMusicFriday<\/strong> album and EP releases. It is seemingly a metal-heavy week, yet there is a trio of highly recommended albums.\u00a0The first is the return of\u00a0Poison The Well <\/strong>with ‘Peace In Place’<\/em>. It’s their first album in 17 years. You can read more about that here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Next, there is\u00a0‘Loss’<\/em> by anonymous Portuguese metallers Gaerea<\/strong>. Having joined the\u00a0Century Media Records<\/strong> roster, the Porto-based five-piece’s fifth album aims to go big.\u00a0‘Loss’<\/em> is a monstrous onslaught that blends blastbeat black metal with towering metalcore choruses (including singing for the first time). By using haunting melodies, walls of sonic distortion, pummelling percussion, and occasional cinematic flourishes, Gaerea<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>deliver one of the year’s most irresistible metal (or metalcore – you decide) releases so far.<\/p>\n

Then there is the second full-length of Chicago’s\u00a0Footballhead<\/strong>. Ahead of making their UK debut this summer,\u00a0‘Weight of The Truth’<\/em> sees them evolve their brand of alt-rock. Across its 12 tracks, it embraces 2000’s melodic post-hardcore, taking stylistic cues from influential names such as Finch and their modern contemporaries, One Step Closer. Loaded with power chord driving choruses along a raw DIY ethos, Footballhead<\/strong> continue to be an exciting band worth paying attention to.<\/p>\n

Today also sees new releases from\u00a0The Dear Hunter<\/strong>,\u00a0Filth Is Eternal<\/strong>,\u00a0Lost In Hollywood<\/strong>,\u00a0Exodus<\/strong>,\u00a0King 810<\/strong>, and more.<\/p>\n
