The track has come to light following what the band describe as a &#8220;<em>legal battle between Ice Nine Kills and their fathers.&#8221;\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Frontman <strong>Spencer Charnas<\/strong> spoke candidly about the personal weight behind the concept,\u00a0<em>&#8220;I&#8217;ve been estranged from my father for a long time. But this movie, and this song, while bringing a lot of complicated feelings to the surface, also brought us back together.&#8221;\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Although the track has been released, it seems the relationship between\u00a0<strong>Ice Nine Kills<\/strong> and their &#8220;dads&#8221; still isn&#8217;t great. Commenting on <em>&#8216;Hell Or High Slaughter,&#8217;<\/em> Spencer&#8217;s &#8220;father&#8221;, Sonny shared,<em>\u00a0\u201cYou call my son shrieking into a microphone like a meshuggah mental patient \u2018singing\u2019? That\u2019s not heavy metal. He joins vocalist\/guitarist Steve Von Till, drummer Jason Roeder, bassist Dave Edwardson, and keyboard player Noah Landis. The band shared the following statement on its release:<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;We need this, perhaps more than ever, and we suspect we are not alone. The trials and tribulations in our personal lives and as a band, combined with simply trying to navigate the insanity of our society, with the stress, anxiety, and isolation that come with it can be excruciating. Add to that the existential confusion and sorrow of the climate crisis and the sixth mass extinction. It is enough to cause you to completely lose your mind if you can&#8217;t find release or catharsis. This strange, emotionally charged music has always been our method of trying to survive this and this is what we&#8217;ve always been singing about. When you have spent a lifetime engaged with these energies and utilizing this form of expression to purge and purify, it feels detrimental to our well-being to let it sit idle and neglected. This was now or never.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On the inclusion of Turner joining the band, they commented, <em>\u201cHe came straight out of the gate contributing, writing and presenting ideas,\u201d says the band. \u201cHis energy matches ours perfectly. Armed with a barrage of riffs and an infectious groove, it&#8217;s a welcome return to\u00a0<strong>Every Hell<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;&#8216;Let Me Go&#8217; was written in the Summer of 2025, an initial idea brought to the rehearsal room that was a bit too proggy. We slowly tore it apart over a few weeks to make it more gnarly and dissonant, more aligned with Every Hell vibe,&#8221;<\/em> explained vocalist and sax player Will Gardner.\u00a0<em> &#8220;Lyrically, &#8216;Let Me Go&#8217; is about being stuck in a loop of guilt and self-loathing until eventually giving in to depression and anxiety instead of fighting it.
