That annual punk rock holiday camp where 3,000 people overindulge on PBR and, if you\u2019re (un)lucky, encouraged to drink dubiously-sourced alcohol from an Australian\u2019s soggy shoe.<\/p>\n<p>As ever, there a couple of hundred bands playing in the glorious Florida sunshine too, meaning it\u2019s something of a pilgrimage for people from all over the globe. This year promises to be no exception, with a stellar line-up that includes big hitters such as The Movielife, Against Me!, Hot Water Music and Superchunk. There\u2019s also another strong showing from the UK and Ireland, and anyone making the trip shouldn\u2019t need reminding about the excellence of Nervus, Anna\u2019s Anchor, Kamikaze Girls, Ghouls and the like.<\/p>\n<p><b>Already Heard<\/b> will once again be making the trip to the Sunshine State to get sunburned (God damn our pale and pasty skin), eat grease-laden pizzas and maybe \u2013 just maybe \u2013 watch a f*ckton of killer punk rock.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/user\/alreadyhearduk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Follow us on Spotify for more playlists<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Here are 10 acts we absolutely won\u2019t be missing:<\/p>\n<h2><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/78.media.tumblr.com\/9b0125a9e9bb9d7918cf62fd5254dc82\/tumblr_oyagt3olHv1r8no6so10_1280.jpg\" width=\"250em\" alt=\"\" title=\"\">Dags!<\/h2>\n<p>Italy\u2019s <b>Dags!<\/b> made their way around the UK earlier this year in support of I Love Your Lifestyle and Football Etc., and if you caught them, you\u2019ll know they were hugely entertaining. Playing mathy, indie-rock crossed with some old-school emo, they\u2019ve got some killer hooks to go with some strong noodling guitars. And, best of all \u2013 besides the ridiculous song titles, such as <i>\u2018I Would Love To Send All Those Shitheads Wearing Camo To The Actual Army\u2019<\/i> \u2013 the Milan trio are a riotous amount of fun; witty, charming and thoroughly absorbing.<\/p>\n<p><!-- more --><\/p>\n<p><b>Where &amp; When:<\/b> 7:10pm &#8211; Friday, October 27th &#8211; Rockey\u2019s Piano Bar (112 S Main St)<\/p>\n<h2><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/78.media.tumblr.com\/1a0b0515d6209a57f1f9306f51d9eb0e\/tumblr_om1yb87VH91r8no6so6_1280.jpg\" width=\"250em\" alt=\"\" title=\"\">Dead Bars<\/h2>\n<p><b>Dead Bars<\/b> delivered one of the finest punk albums of the year with <i>\u2018Dream Gig\u2019<\/i>, and they\u2019re a blast live too, armed with a barrel-load of pit-friendly, sing-along anthems. Like all of the best bands, there\u2019s a bittersweet tinge to <b>Dead Bars<\/b>\u2019 stories of anxiety and drinking, but they translate perfectly to the communal live experience. And, now that they\u2019re officially part of the No Idea family, Fest will feel like home away from home for the Seattle natives. Expect them to slay!<\/p>\n<p><b>Where &amp; When:<\/b> 12:10am &#8211; Saturday, October 28th &#8211; Tall Paul\u2019s (10 SE 2nd Ave.) &#8211; Guided By Voices cover set<br \/>\n10:40pm &#8211; Sunday, October 29th &#8211; Rockey\u2019s Piano Bar (112 S Main St)<\/p>\n<h2><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/78.media.tumblr.com\/ad81d980e264acc36488b2042ccefcfd\/tumblr_oyagt3olHv1r8no6so1_1280.jpg\" width=\"250em\" alt=\"\" title=\"\">Dead Leaves<\/h2>\n<p><b>Dead Leaves<\/b> have come a long way since their pop-punk roots as Call It Fiction, and while they moved towards a more indie-rock\/post-hardcore sound on their self-titled mini-album, this year\u2019s <i>\u2018Vultures\u2019<\/i> has seen the Ohio group finally hit their stride. Drawing on their pop-punk nous, there are some razor-sharp hooks to go with the dense lyrical themes, adding light and shade to the group\u2019s dark heart. The result will hopefully make for a compelling live spectacle\u2026<\/p>\n<p><b>Where &amp; When:<\/b> 6:20pm &#8211; Friday, October 27th &#8211; Rockey\u2019s Piano Bar (112 S Main St)<\/p>\n<h2><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/78.media.tumblr.com\/58e2ee5d45d3d777f29264dfb7008e58\/tumblr_oyagt3olHv1r8no6so3_1280.jpg\" width=\"250em\" alt=\"\" title=\"\">Hiccup<\/h2>\n<p>Brooklyn\u2019s <b>Hiccup<\/b> are as infectious as their name suggests, combining choppy guitars and duelling vocals. Not unlike Martha or the Spook School if they relocated to the States, there\u2019s a coolness to Hiccup\u2019s sloppy sound that is unforced and undeniably crowd-pleasing. <i>\u2018Imaginary Enemies\u2019<\/i>, the group\u2019s first full-length, emerged on Father\/Daughter Records (home to Diet Cig) earlier this year and is a riot from start to finish; brash and bold and entirely original \u2013 and we can\u2019t wait to catch them live.<\/p>\n<p><b>Where &amp; When:<\/b> 4:10pm &#8211; Sunday, October 29th &#8211; High Dive (210 SW 2nd Ave)<\/p>\n<h2><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/78.media.tumblr.com\/3e3cf885a44ba8bd48aa871473edc2ea\/tumblr_oyagt3olHv1r8no6so4_1280.jpg\" width=\"250em\" alt=\"\" title=\"\">Laureate<\/h2>\n<p>Montreal\u2019s <b>Laureate<\/b> wowed us with the wonderful <i>\u2018Landmarks\u2019<\/i> earlier this year, and the Canadian emo\/pop-punkers will be making the long journey down to Florida to round off a successful year. Driven by the dual vocals of Erin Power and Giancarlo Talarico, there\u2019s real depth and variety to the group\u2019s sound, elevating them above their peers. If they\u2019re half as good live as they are on record, we\u2019ll be in for a hell of a time\u2026<\/p>\n<p><b>Where &amp; When:<\/b> 11:20pm &#8211; Friday, October 27th &#8211; Loosey\u2019s (120 SW 1st Ave)<\/p>\n<h2><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/78.media.tumblr.com\/1a9fe70cd182bee6a583739393ec384b\/tumblr_oyagt3olHv1r8no6so9_1280.jpg\" width=\"250em\" alt=\"\" title=\"\">Pkew Pkew Pkew<\/h2>\n<p>It wouldn\u2019t be Fest if there weren\u2019t some good time punk to sing along to, and <b>Pkew Pkew Pkew<\/b> are fine proponents of the genre. Recently signed to SideOneDummy, who re-released the group\u2019s excellent self-titled effort, there was already a considerable buzz around the group prior to their appearance at Fest last year. This year \u2013 and with a whole new audience opened up to their beer-soaked drunken odes to baseball and skateboarding \u2013 they should be a full-on riot.<\/p>\n<p><b>Where &amp; When:<\/b> 4:50pm &#8211; Saturday, October 28th &#8211; The Wooly (20 N Main St)<\/p>\n<h2><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/78.media.tumblr.com\/9318f3218bc9488931c6c022dc90c6b4\/tumblr_oyagt3olHv1r8no6so5_1280.jpg\" width=\"250em\" alt=\"\" title=\"\">Sinai Vessel<\/h2>\n<p>On record, there\u2019s an earthen beauty to <b>Sinai Vessel<\/b>\u2019s rustically charming vignettes. Not unlike Pinegrove or the Weakerthans, the true beauty of <b>Sinai Vessel<\/b>\u2019s songs lies in the storytelling, and vocalist Caleb Christie Cordes can sure paint you a verbal picture. Live, however, they\u2019re electric. There\u2019s a sense of catharsis about Cordes\u2019 songwriting, which, combined with an unbelievably intense performance, makes <b>Sinai Vessel<\/b> come alive. Getting to see them two years in a row \u2013 especially now we\u2019ve had time to digest <i>\u2018Brokenlegged\u2019&gt;I? \u2013 is a privilege. We cannot wait.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>Where &amp; When:<\/b> 10:30pm &#8211; Friday, October 27th &#8211; Rockey\u2019s Piano Bar (112 S Main St)<\/p>\n<h2><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/78.media.tumblr.com\/ad3eac4c78ad34f616bbf66a78d12ce0\/tumblr_oyagt3olHv1r8no6so6_1280.jpg\" width=\"250em\" alt=\"\" title=\"\">Sundressed<\/h2>\n<p>Arizona\u2019s <b>Sundressed<\/b> meld gorgeous pop hooks with forthright and honest lyrics that take on some pretty heavy topics, including mental health and abstinence. It\u2019s an approach that has won them some high-profile fans too, including being handpicked to open for Dashboard Confessional. Recent full-length <i>\u2018A Little Less Put Together\u2019<\/i> was a big favourite here at Already Heard, so if you like punk music armed with plenty of pop hooks and a heavy dose of introspection, <b>Sundressed<\/b> aren\u2019t to be missed.<\/p>\n<p><b>Where &amp; When:<\/b> 11:20pm &#8211; Saturday, October 28th &#8211; Boca Fiesta (232 SE 1 St)<\/p>\n<h2><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/78.media.tumblr.com\/f9e7f09c6f1c01329f7808b7e15e0193\/tumblr_oyagt3olHv1r8no6so2_1280.jpg\" width=\"250em\" alt=\"\" title=\"\">Toby Foster<\/h2>\n<p>Erstwhile High Dive vocalist <b>Toby Foster<\/b> released a new solo album earlier this year on the ever-dependable Lauren Records, and will be bringing his full-band experience to Fest for what promises to be one of the sets of the weekend. Combining considered lyricism with breezy indie-pop hooks, Foster\u2019s <i>\u2018100 Ways\u2019<\/i> doesn\u2019t drift too far from his previous output, displaying his ability as a relatable and powerful lyricist. Considering the social aspect to Foster\u2019s lyrics, he\u2019s an ideal indie-pop artist for The Fest.<\/p>\n<p><b>Where &amp; When:<\/b> 4:30pm &#8211; Sunday, October 29th &#8211; Palomino (232 SE 1 St)<\/p>\n<h2><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/78.media.tumblr.com\/bd06a60f9e21900096a850c14d0c6a34\/tumblr_oyagt3olHv1r8no6so8_1280.jpg\" width=\"250em\" alt=\"\" title=\"\">Wild Pink<\/h2>\n<p>We\u2019re huge fans of <b>Wild Pink<\/b>, so we\u2019re understandably stoked at the thought of seeing them live for the first time. Their sound has evolved somewhat since 2015\u2019s <i>\u2018Good Life\u2019<\/i> EP, but this year\u2019s self-titled effort was a triumph of mood and textures, displaying subtle shifts in tone and effortless changes of pace.
