There\u2019s also clear 90s alt-rock influences meaning <strong>Blind Mice<\/strong> have crafted an EP that is accessible and likeable but which never plays to the lowest common denominator. <!-- more --><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blindmicemusic.bandcamp.com\/album\/sunday-songs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sunday Songs by Blind Mice<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Instead, songs such as <em>\u2018Home Movies\u2019<\/em> and <em>\u2018Fifteen\u2019<\/em> fizz and pop with a timeless charm and you could easily see both getting heavy rotation on MTV2 back in the mid-late 90s and early 00s. In fact, it\u2019s perhaps thanks to Nunes\u2019 gravelly vocals that <strong>Blind Mice<\/strong> stand out so much, and it certainly adds a certain depth to <strong>Blind Mice\u2019s<\/strong> sound. <\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere, <em>\u2018Madame Ruby\u2019<\/em> is classic alt-rock, yet the odd bit of duelling vocals shows another side to the New Bedford, MA, quartet\u2019s sound, while <em>\u2018Barbara\u2019s Bar\u2019<\/em> sees <strong>Blind Mice<\/strong> drop the pace and up the moody atmospherics. Again, it\u2019s effective stuff and in the context of an all-too-brief EP ensures <strong>Blind Mice<\/strong> keep the quality high without resorting to the tried-and-tested upbeat alt-rock numbers. <\/p>\n<p>It means that, ultimately, <strong>Blind Mice<\/strong> have set themselves a high benchmark to follow. Sure, <em>\u2018Sunday Songs\u2019<\/em> may pay homage to 90s alt-rock and early 00s emo \u2013 but as someone who grew up with both of those genres, there\u2019s definitely a lot to love about <strong>Blind Mice\u2019s<\/strong> take on a familiar sound.
