On April 14th, Pacific Ridge Records<\/b> will be releasing their latest tribute compilation. Having previously payed homage to Alkaline Trio<\/b>, Blink-182<\/b>, The Get Up Kids<\/b> and The Movielife<\/b>, this time they will be paying tribute to Long Island emo rock stalwarts Taking Back Sunday<\/b>.<\/p>\n

The simply titled ‘A Tribute to Taking Back Sunday’<\/i> will see contributions from the likes of Everyone Dies In Utah<\/b>, Icarus The Owl<\/b>, Traditions<\/b>, Knockout Kid<\/b> and more.<\/p>\n

Over the coming weeks, Already Heard<\/b> will be premiering 2 tracks from the compilation. Today is the first of 2 exclusives we will be running in conjunction with Pacific Ridge Records<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Paper States<\/b> are a pop-rock group hailing from Pittsburgh, PA and their contribution to ‘A Tribute to Taking Back Sunday’<\/i> sees them covering ‘Call Me In The Morning’<\/i> from the bands eponymous album.<\/p>\n

Paper States<\/b> frontman Ryan Stack passed on the following comment to tell us what Taking Back Sunday<\/b> means to him:<\/p>\n

“Taking Back Sunday became my favorite band almost 12 years ago when I saw Flavor Flav sing the words, "she said don’t,” in their music video. It’s crazy to think about how long ago that was, because I don’t feel nostalgic when I listen to them. They stay fresh. When I hear live renditions, old songs sound new, relevant, and powerful. New songs keep me wanting more. I sing and play songs, and I probably wouldn’t if it weren’t for Adam Lazzara. While I don’t think I could ever emulate his stage swagger or insane range, he’s where I learned to do what I do.“<\/i><\/p>\n<\/p>\n
