With a pro wrestler for a frontman, expectations for Fozzy<\/strong> weren\u2019t high to begin with. However, from their roots as a weekend cover band to the dizzying heights of a headlining world tour, they\u2019ve developed and matured beyond all recognition in 15 years.<\/p>\n

Accompanied by Reverted, Malrun and The Dirty Youth, Fozzy<\/strong> bring their contagious riffs and vocalist Chris Jericho\u2019s indomitable energy to Camden on their European leg of world domination. Discussing covers, emotional range and what comes next, Already Heard<\/b> grabbed a few moments with guitarist Billy Grey before they take the Underworld stage.<\/p>\n

AH: First off, a massive welcome to the British shores again, we\u2019ve missed you since Download! What\u2019s been happening in the Fozzy camp since then? <\/strong>
Billy: It\u2019s been great to come back! We\u2019ve done a lot of touring, over in the States mostly, with Buckcherry, Theory of a Deadman, another American band called Texas Hippie Coalition, and some on our own as well.<\/em><\/p>\n

AH: Congratulations on \u2018Do You Wanna Start A War\u2019<\/em>, it\u2019s a phenomenal record. <\/strong>
Billy: It\u2019s my favourite record yet! I know every artist says that about their new record, but it has the best songs on it, it\u2019s a relevant record and I just really love it. <\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

AH: \u2018Do You Wanna Start A War\u2019<\/em>, for the most part, was a really energised and relentless record, but where did the solemnity of \u2018Died With You\u2019<\/em> come from? <\/strong>
Billy: You know, everybody in the band is into all different kinds of music and a good song is a good song. We definitely wanted some ups and downs and some peaks and valleys on the record, and a song like \u2018Died With You\u2019 is perfect for that. <\/em><\/p>\n

AH: We\u2019re grateful it\u2019s ended up on the setlist tonight! <\/strong>
Billy: It\u2019s one of my favourite tunes! <\/em><\/p>\n

AH: What songs do you know will never make the setlist but you really wish they would? <\/strong>
Billy: Oh god let\u2019s think about this here. I would think \u2018No Good Way\u2019 from that record (\u2018Do You Wanna Start A War\u2019), maybe \u2018Storm The Beaches\u2019 from the previous record, \u2018Sin And Bones\u2019, I mean \u2018No Good Way\u2019 probably has a chance but \u2018Storm The Beaches\u2019 is a bit of a long tune so you have to have a headline set with a bunch of video theatrics going on, a whole concept thing! <\/em><\/p>\n

AH: Your cover of \u2018SOS\u2019<\/em> has caused a real storm, some are saying that\u2019s what they\u2019re waiting to hear tonight. What\u2019s your next big cover? <\/strong>
Billy: We haven\u2019t really talked about that. We throw ideas around but nothing\u2019s really solidified yet. One thing about doing a cover tune is when you do it, you pick a song that\u2019s not your style and it\u2019s obviously going to be a good song because you\u2019re willing to cover it and people wanna hear it, but you have to make it your own. And they try to do it just like the record or the one previous and it just doesn\u2019t come across as good, but if you make it your own, that\u2019s what makes it special. <\/em><\/p>\n

AH: What I loved with \u2018SOS\u2019<\/em> was the way you kept the piano elements! <\/strong>
Billy: Yeah I loved that, kept to the roots, shoved the beats up, blasted some guitars in there! <\/em><\/p>\n

AH: So you\u2019ve opened for the likes of Saxon already, and they\u2019re big influences to you. Now look at you, headlining a world tour \u2013 did you see this coming? <\/strong>
Billy: Well we always hoped it would happen, and it\u2019s always good to go out with bigger bands to build your following and get to play in front of their crowds. But you know, we always hoped it would happen and we\u2019re very thankful to be here doing it! <\/em><\/p>\n

AH: You\u2019ve still got a long way to go on this world tour, how do you keep your sanity on the road? What\u2019s your downtime like? <\/strong>
Billy: Downtime is trying to find something good to eat sometimes. A hot meal\u2019s good. We always try to exercise and just walk around and see different things. But the main thing is sleep, it\u2019s not overrated. <\/em><\/p>\n

AH: Back in the days of \u2018All That Remains\u2019<\/i> and \u2018Chasing The Grail\u2019<\/i>, I could never have predicted how big \u2018Do You Wanna Start A War\u2019 <\/i>would become. So what\u2019s the next step? <\/strong>
Billy: The next step would be just to write another great rock record, and move forward with the concept of being the biggest band in the world! Going for the top! <\/em><\/p>\n
