It’s fairly well known by now that the Australian music scene is pretty rad with a wealth of bands breaking out from Down Under; Parkway Drive, Tonight Alive, Trophy Eyes, With Confidence and more. Looking to join that ever-growing pack is Melbourne pop-punks Between You And Me<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Although they only formed in early 2016, the quintet have already shared the stage with With Confidence, As It Is, Trash Boat, as well as self-releasing their debut EP, ‘Paper Thin’<\/i>, last October. Fast-forward to the present day and Between You And Me<\/b> can now consider them as part of the Hopeless Records<\/b> family, calling the likes of New Found Glory, The Wonder Years, Bayside, and Taking Back Sunday as label mates.<\/p>\n

Having listened to ‘Paper Thin’<\/i> alongside new single, ‘Overthinking’<\/i>, repeatedly, it’s safe to say Between You And Me<\/b> specliase in delivering all-out pop-punk bangers! They’re a surefire band to keep an eye on in the coming months. <\/p>\n

Simple Plan – Still Not Getting Any<\/h2>\n

Jake (Wilson – Vocals): Hearing this album when I was 8 years old was the reason I wanted to grow up and be in a band. This was the first time I was introduced to this style of music. I’m not sure how I stumbled across it but I found myself listening to it every day. I can still listen to this album and want to sing every word.<\/p>\n

Pennywise – About Time<\/h2>\n

Jai (Wilson – Guitar): \u2018About Time\u2019<\/i> might not even make my list of top 20 favourite albums, but it has easily been my most influential. This album was bought for me by my cousin when I was 8 years old and it was the first time I was introduced to Punk music. Compared to the music that was being played on the radio at the time, there was something that got my attention with this style of music – the fast beats, guitar riffs and aggressive vocals. It was not long after this album that I first picked up a guitar and I believe that \u2018About Time\u2019<\/i> was the reason for this.<\/p>\n

Blink-182 – The Mark, Tom & Travis Show<\/h2>\n

James (Karagiozis – Bass): I remember being given this album on a burnt CD, from a friend who would sneak me punk music that my parents didn’t want me to hear. It was around grade 7 or 8 we were both learning our instruments at the time, so we would go home and try and learn the songs and then try and jam them on weekends. Playing and learning guitar finally became fun, I probably realised you didn’t have to be a shredder to write a sick song so I guess that kind of helped me to believe in my song writing, even if I didn’t realise it yet. Every time I listen to it now it always makes me smile and remember just to have fun.<\/p>\n

Bullet For My Valentine – The Poison<\/h2>\n

Jamey (Bowerman – Drums): I was captivated by the melodies and double bass drumming when I first heard this album. It inspired me to begin playing drums.<\/p>\n

Metallica – Master Of Puppets<\/h2>\n

Chris (Bowerman – Guitar\/Vocals): Hearing this album at such a young age and being so naive to what else was out there, opened up a world of excitement, passion and curiosity for music and the guitar.<\/p>\n
