Since emerging as a viral sensation in 2014, Southampton\u2019s The Lounge Kittens<\/b> have been delighting festival-goers with their comedic, lounge-style covers of popular rock and metal songs. From Limp Bizkit\u2019s \u2018Rollin,\u2019<\/i> which led to them joining Fred Durst and company on stage at Sonisphere, to ‘Duality\u2019<\/i> by Slipknot to System Of A Down\u2019s ‘Bounce\u2019<\/i> and beyond, the trio, made up of Jenny Deacon (vocals and piano), Timia Gwendoline (vocals), and Zan Lawther (vocals), have an array of tongue-in-cheek hits at their disposal.<\/p>\n

This weekend The Lounge Kittens<\/b> will be returning to the Download Festival<\/b> for the second time where they will be performing a medley of standout songs from other bands playing throughout the three-day event.<\/p>\n

However, before they hit the Dogtooth stage on Saturday, they will be cycling 164 miles from London to Donington as part of ‘The Trooper Heavy Metal Truants\u2019<\/i> charity cycle ride. Now in its fifth year, the three-day ride will see 50 cyclists take part; music fans, music industry professionals, band members, and HMT founders; Iron Maiden Manager, Rod Smallwood, and former Metal Hammer Editor, Alex Milas. Proceeds from the fundraising ride will be split between three charities; Nordoff Robbins, Teenage Cancer Trust and Childline. While The Lounge Kittens<\/b>\u2019 cover of Queen\u2019s ‘Bicycle Race\u2019<\/a> will be donated to the initiative.<\/p>\n

As they prepare to get on their bikes and make their pilgrimage to Download<\/b>, The Lounge Kittens<\/b> compiled a playlist of songs that will be part of their medley this weekend.<\/p>\n

Aerosmith – Dude Looks Like A Lady<\/h2>\n

\u2026because it\u2019s the ONLY way we could start our #DL2017 medley. What a banger.<\/p>\n

AFI – Girl\u2019s Not Grey<\/h2>\n

We\u2019ve had a lot of people happy we don\u2019t clash with AFI so it\u2019s only fitting to include our tribute to them.<\/p>\n

Rob Zombie – Dragula<\/h2>\n

The chugging rhythm of this song gets us every time.<\/p>\n

Devin Townsend Project – Kingdom<\/h2>\n

because we had to get a bit of Devin in. Did you know Devin hates milk? As does Zan!<\/p>\n

Fozzy – Enemy<\/h2>\n

\u2026because Chris Jericho is hands down one of the nicest men in rock.<\/p>\n

Steel Panther – Party All Day<\/h2>\n

\u2026because we can never, EVER have too much Steel Panther (wahey)<\/p>\n

Sabaton – Hell & Back<\/h2>\n

We heard Sabaton bring a tank and a plane on tour with them. We have amended our rider accordingly because frankly, we feel like we\u2019re letting the side down!<\/p>\n

Alestorm – Keelhauled<\/h2>\n

\u2026because we have been longing to do some Alestorm for AGES. Who doesn\u2019t love singing about drinking and pirates?<\/p>\n

Pierce the Veil – King for a Day<\/h2>\n

Any excuse to sing like cartoon mice. Literally, any excuse.<\/p>\n

Motionless in White – Reincarnate<\/h2>\n

\u2026because we like a challenge.<\/p>\n

Like A Storm – Love the Way You Hate Me<\/h2>\n

We could not put some of our buddies LAS into the mix. Did you see the video from DL2015 where Chris tries to teach Jen to play the didgeridoo? GOOGLE IT. You\u2019re welcome.<\/p>\n

Biffy Clyro – Mountains<\/h2>\n

What a song. Not enough time in the medley to do it justice but we shoehorned it in!<\/p>\n

Creeper – Black Mass<\/h2>\n

\u2026because they are lovely people from Southampton, just like us. Go Team!<\/p>\n

Slayer – Raining Blood<\/h2>\n

Finally some SLLLAAAAAAAAYYYYYYERRRRRRRR!<\/p>\n

Alter Bridge – My Champion<\/h2>\n

We could literally have done ANY Alter Bridge song. They\u2019re all anthems. Can\u2019t wait to see them!<\/p>\n

Aerosmith – Love In An Elevator<\/h2>\n

Because they\u2019re Aerosmith. So they get two. Because THEY\u2019RE AEROSMITH!<\/p>\n
