This past week, The Final Clause Of Tacitus<\/b> returned with a new EP called ‘Not Like The Rest’<\/i>. Based out of Reading, the EP sees the funk metallers serve six groove-filled tracks that are reminiscent of Rage Against The Machine and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Songs such as ‘Tables Turn’<\/i> and ‘Bad For Your Health’<\/i> sees TFCOT<\/b> give funk rock\/metal a fresh lick of paint for 2018 with glowing results.<\/p>\n

With a sound that isn’t afraid to delve into the past, we asked The Final Clause Of Tacitus<\/b> to curate a playlist of songs they consider as influential. From soul legends to rap-metal classics and 90’s rock standouts.<\/p>\n

Smashing Pumpkins – Siva<\/h2>\n

Tom: We love the loud\/quiet and energetic\/calm dynamics. It proves songs don’t have to be all energy to be great<\/p>\n

Wolfmother – Colossal<\/h2>\n

Tom: Awesome riff and a great example of a Wolfmother song. They do great instrumentals and don’t need to put in guitar solos, which, I love.<\/p>\n

Arcane Roots – In This Town of Such Weather<\/h2>\n

Tom: The chords and timings seem odd on there own, but put together make up an incredible song. Arcane Roots are one of my favourite bands at the moment.<\/p>\n

Beastie Boys – No Sleep Till Brooklyn<\/h2>\n

Tom: Unapologetically boisterous. I also boss this song at karaoke.<\/p>\n

HED (P.E) – Crazy Legs<\/h2>\n

Matt: Funky bass line with just the best “in your face” lyrics ever.<\/p>\n

Skindred – Babylon<\/h2>\n

Matt: This was the first Skindred song I heard and just sums up their unique sound.<\/p>\n

James Brown – Papas Got a Brand New Bag<\/h2>\n

Matt: Because he is the king of funk!<\/p>\n

Deftones – Back to School<\/h2>\n

Andy: I love this song and the video. Smooth slick rap style with a hauntingly catchy hook.<\/p>\n

Limp Bizkit – Nookie<\/h2>\n

Andy: Good old cheese rap-metal with a catchy as hell chorus!<\/p>\n

HED (P.E) – Renegade<\/h2>\n

Matt: Love the scream rap style Jahred pulls off in this sick song!<\/p>\n

Red Hot Chili Peppers – Can’t Stop<\/h2>\n

Matt: Great song, great video. Enough said.<\/p>\n

Rage Against The Machine – Bulls On Parade<\/h2>\n

Matt: This was the first Rage song I ever heard. It has so much attitude and a timeless classic!<\/p>\n
