\"image\"It seems like the third album from Bury Tomorrow<\/strong> has been a longtime coming. Announced in January, \u2018Runes\u2019<\/em> finally sees the light of day this week, and it\u2019s safe to say it has certainly been worth the wait.<\/p>\n

From the opening moments of \u2018Man on Fire\u2019<\/em>, you\u2019ll instantly realise that Bury Tomorrow<\/strong> have stepped up their game. With pulsating drums, meaty riffs and pitch-perfect vocals, BT<\/strong> have found a fitting formula. <\/p>\n

As you work your way into ‘Runes\u2019,<\/em> you find yourself overwhelmed by the sheer force and powerful tracks like ‘Shadow, A Creator\u2019<\/em> and ‘The Torch\u2019<\/em> produce.<\/p>\n

As a whole,\u00a0‘Runes\u2019 is one giant leap forward for BT<\/strong>, <\/em>yet the band\u2019s overly aggressive side is still very much intact. ‘Our Gift\u2019<\/em> is dominated by pounding drums and spiralling guitar riffs, whilst ‘Darker Waters\u2019<\/em> follows suit with Davyd Winter-Bates\u2019 growling vocals taking center stage. <\/em><\/p>\n

A late highlight, \u2018Under The Sun\u2019,<\/em> sums up what \u2018Runes\u2019<\/em> is all about; domineering instrumentals with \u201chooky\u201d clean and heavy vocals going back and forth.<\/p>\n

The band\u2019s growth has seen them become open to a more melodic style, and with songs like ‘Under The Sun\u2019<\/em> and ‘Garden of Thorns\u2019,<\/em>\u00a0they\u2019ve unintentionally widened their appeal. Sure it may not please longtime fans, but as an overall package ‘Runes\u2019<\/em> is simply awesome.<\/p>\n

Whilst stylistically the band repeat ideas late on, thus giving a sense of unneeded longevity, it still doesn\u2019t hinder ‘Runes\u2019<\/em> as a whole.<\/p>\n

It is a record that truly demonstrates why British metalcore is in the strong position it\u2019s currently in. Bury Tomorrow<\/strong> have confidently grown as a band on ‘Runes\u2019,<\/em> an album that is thoroughly compelling and powerful. It deserves all the praise it gets. Not an album to be ignored.<\/p>\n
