Over the coming weeks, Already Heard<\/b> will be highlighting a variety of bands set to play the Slam Dunk Festival<\/b> later this month.<\/i><\/p>\n

12 months on from making their Slam Dunk Festival<\/b> debut, North West pop-punks WSTR<\/b> are riding the wave of releasing their impressive debut full-length, ‘Red, Green or Inbetween’<\/i>, earlier this year. It sees them deliver a set of songs that firmly stick to the pop-punk formula with perfection.<\/p>\n

As they prepare to return to Slam Dunk<\/b>, we asked the members of WSTR<\/b> to pick out their favourite tunes from the bands they will be sharing the Monster Energy stage with later this month.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Neck Deep – Up In Smoke<\/h2>\n

Alex (Swift – Guitar): The lyrics throughout this song are quality and very relatable for anyone who has parents trying to push you in one direction when you’re heading the other.<\/p>\n

Cute Is What We Aim For – Teasing To Please<\/h2>\n

Jason (Blackburn – Guitar): ‘The Same Old Blood Rush With A New Touch’<\/i> was a stand out album during my high school years and I remember this song distinctively stood out the first time I heard it, it quickly became one of my all time favourite songs.<\/p>\n

We The Kings \u2013 Check Yes Juliet<\/h2>\n

Andy (Makin – Drums): This song is super nostalgic and has a huge catchy chorus. It has a young and care free vibe which really matches the lyrics!<\/p>\n

The Maine \u2013 Same Suit, Different Tie<\/h2>\n

Danny: When I first heard this on ‘American Candy’<\/i>, I was immediately drawn in by the really 80\u2019s style intro riff! And of course a super catchy chorus hooks you in again, which has always been what The Maine<\/b> are just so absolute masterclass at! Really inspiring song and band for me on a whole! I’m so excited to share a stage with these guys at Slam Dunk!<\/p>\n

The Movielife \u2013 Jamestown<\/h2>\n

Jason: I discovered The Movielife in my later teen years, I don’t often listen to their records but when I do, I end up listening to them exclusively for a couple of weeks at a time! There are so many huge tracks in their discography but if you were to listen to them for the first time, ‘Jamestown’<\/i> is the place to start.<\/p>\n

Trophy Eyes – Rain On Me<\/h2>\n

Alex (Tobijanski – Bass): Absolute insane drumming and has great diversity, also reminds me of a song by ‘Love, Reign o’er Me’ by The Who.<\/i><\/p>\n

Like Pacific \u2013 Richmond<\/h2>\n

Andy: I could of picked any Like Pacific song because they’re all solid but this one stands out to me because its one of the first ones I heard by them and I really liked the visuals they released for this track.<\/p>\n

Neck Deep – Can’t Kick Up The Roots<\/h2>\n

Alex: Who doesn’t love a song about your literal hometown (Wrexham)?<\/p>\n

Cute Is What We Aim For – The Curse of Curves
\n<\/h2>\n

Danny: This song is absolute nostalgia for me! The vocal melodies on this are insane! I jammed this so hard when I was younger, and I still do now.<\/p>\n

Trophy Eyes – Nose Bleed<\/h2>\n

Alex: There is one big fat groove to this song. A proper one to crank in the car on long drive.<\/p>\n

The Maine – Bad Behavior<\/h2>\n

Danny: My absolute boys again! This song has some of the sweetest hooks and catchiest riffs I\u2019ve heard in a long time! I love the new direction The Maine are going in, it’s so cool to see. I have not stopped jamming their album since it dropped!<\/p>\n

Cute Is What We Aim For – Sweet Talk 101<\/h2>\n

Danny: I picked this song because I think it was actually the first song I ever heard by these guys! I remember my friend showing me and as soon as I heard the guitar at the start of this track, I was hooked. I’m also super excited to share a stage with these guys at Slam Dunk!<\/p>\n
