And for those who want a taste of vintage Black Flag, without the bitter aftertaste of sour grapes, <em>\u2018Wasted Years\u2019<\/em> is the solution.<\/p>\n<p>An amazing slice of harcore punk-rock, <em>\u2018Wasted Years\u2019 <\/em>has a uniquely Californian skate vibe; a throwback to the long-passed times of tape decks and skate decks, but with a polished, modern twist.<\/p>\n<p>The best thing about <em>\u2018Wasted Years\u2019<\/em> is the snarling delivery of Keith Morris\u2019 vocals, especially the dripping-with-cynicism lines of <em>\u2018Red, White and Black\u2019,<\/em> where the lines <em>\u201cyou\u2019re a living punchline and the jokes on you\u201d<\/em> and <em>\u201carrogance is bliss, who gives a shit?\u201d <\/em>sound like a verbal assault on the listener. The lyrics featured here are great, with <em>\u201ctoday\u2019s a good day as any, to tell you to go get fucked\u201d <\/em>from <em>\u2018Exorcised\u2019<\/em> being one of my favourites. <em>\u2018Wasted Years\u2019<\/em> is alive with anger and energy, giving it an edge over its current counterparts. \u00a0It\u2019s not all angst and bitterness though, as <em>\u2018Death Trip on the Party Train,\u2019<\/em> plus plenty of heavy-handed references to drug dealers, will attest.<!-- more --><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Despite only being 22-minutes long, it\u2019s hard to feel short changed by <em>\u2018Wasted Years\u2019<\/em>, with 16 tracks of non-stop aggression, riffs and catchiness, the record seems the perfect length.
