The songs are fairly repetitive, and far too similar to stand out from each other, which causes <em>\u2018Split\u2019<\/em> to melt into one long track. On repeat listens, I found myself zoning out and unable to differentiate from each track as they sludged into each other. None of it was bad; it was just hopelessly hung in the background, unable to break out.<!-- more --><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/topshelfrecords.bandcamp.com\/album\/split-5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Split by Joie De Vivre &amp; Prawn<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Thankfully there are still some nice moments to be enjoyed here.\u00a0<strong>Prawn<\/strong>\u2019s <em>\u2018Why You Always Leave A Note\u2019<\/em> is the standout track for me, with the repetition of <em>\u201cbury your love\u201d<\/em> and a great interlude giving the track something that I feel the rest of the EP is lacking. Unfortunately, nice just about sums it up, it\u2019s neither terrible nor impressive. Whilst\u00a0<em>\u2018Split\u2019<\/em> is a perfectly pleasant offering, and by no means a bad release, there\u2019s nothing here to warrant extra listens.<\/p>\n<p>Both bands have plenty of potential, but I feel it\u2019s not been demonstrated here.
