So it\u2019s fortunate that the <strong>Swingin\u2019 Utters\u2019<\/strong> were generous enough to release <em>\u2018Stuck in a Circle\u2019<\/em>, a three-track EP of punk rock goodness. It\u2019s the perfect tonic to the shitfest of December.<\/p>\n<p>First track, <em>\u2018Stuck in a Circle\u2019<\/em> is a no-fuss slice of punk rock, which does exactly what is says bemoaning the cyclical nature of life as vocalist Johnny Bonnel (who I think sounds a little like a down-tempo Greg Graffin here) delivers smooth vocals over some slick mid-tempo chords. \u00a0The chorus picks up the pace a little, and the mix of speeds results in something both catchy and memorable.<\/p>\n<p>Second track, <em>\u2018I\u2019m Not Your Saviour\u2019<\/em> is a cut from the Tony Sly tribute album. I\u2019ve already reviewed it so won\u2019t dwell on it here, but it\u2019s safe to say it\u2019s a good \u2018un.<!-- more --><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Considering both of these tracks have already been released elsewhere (<em>\u2018Stuck in a Circle\u2019 <\/em>featured on their latest album), it\u2019s only last track <em>\u2018Chain Gang Reaction(ary)\u2019<\/em> that will be of note to dire hard <strong>Swingin\u2019 Utters<\/strong> aficionados. Luckily it\u2019s a banger; I absolutely love the riff that carries the song and the deft rhyming lyrics give the track an appealing pace.
