With their latest album ‘Vessel’<\/em> finally getting a UK release and a return to these shores set to take place early next year, Twenty One Pilots<\/strong> are the latest act from Fueled By Ramen<\/strong> and with tracks like ‘Holding On To You’<\/em> showcasing the bands brand of \u201cSchizoid Pop\u201d I predict you’ll be hearing more about this Ohio duo in the coming months. These Piano-led melodies and energetic pop hooks will be lodged in your head for quite some time. (Sean Reid – @seanreid86<\/a>)

Haim<\/strong> are 3 lovely ladies (and a drummer, but it’s all about the ladies) who, essentially, write pop songs on a rock band set up. Now, this is incredibly catchy stuff. They’ve only released EPs and singles so far but in September their debut LP will drop, and I’m sure it will come with a health warning along the lines of “INCREDIBLY INFECTIOUS”<\/em> because I bet my bottom dollar that it will be. Expect some neat little riffs, solos and some wonderful harmonies. You will certainly be hearing more from Haim<\/strong> soon, I promise you that. (Mikey Brown – @MikeyMiracle<\/a>)

It’s coming to the end of festival season and I honestly can’t wait to top it off by watching JAWS<\/strong> at Bestival. I saw their highlights from the BBC Introducing stage at Reading and I really don’t give it long until their up there with the big boys on the NME stage. (Joe Hart – @nottheJoeHart<\/a>)

<\/strong>If you like your math-rock resolutely poppy and melodious, then The Speed Of Sound In Seawater<\/strong> have a delicious concoction of cerebral instrumentals and tasty harmonies orchestrated just for your tastebuds. This track is kind of like an Indian summer in aural form, with sunny guitar melodies, lots of cymbal crashing, choral voices (but no actual vocals) power chords and get up and go. It’s kind of daydreamy; if your dreams involve galloping horses in Yellowy sundrenched. It’s got shades of Battles fighting Adebisi Shank, and definitely one for fans of Axes too. I don’t really know what else I could say, guilty pleasure, maybe, but its too good to say no to. (Heather Robertson – @thecuriosity<\/a>)

I struggled a little bit to pick any of the newer music I’m listening to right now because there’s just so much of it and it’s all so damn good. So here’s an older Touche Amore<\/strong> song. I skipped ‘Don’t Exist’<\/em> because it’s everywhere right now. TA<\/strong> are one of the strongest and most loved bands in the current scene and I expect their new album (‘Is Survived By’<\/em>) to be as killer as their last two. After deciding to take some time off to pursue side projects in 2009 the band are back and on blistering form. ‘Luminary’<\/em>, taken from their new album ‘Absent Light’<\/em> is just a whirlwind of aggression. With precision guitar work, fast sporadic drums and the most guttural of vocals all mixed together to make a seriously heavy song it is Misery Signals<\/strong> at their finest. If it wasn’t for these guys most of the heavy bands people listen to like Architects, BMTH, We Came As Romans, and Blessthefall wouldn’t even be around. Despite this song have been out for the better part of a year already, I still listen to it almost on a daily basis. Anamanaguchi<\/strong>’s instantly recognisable chiptune-punk hybrid is at it’s best and silliest with this track, featuring a cat synth (hence the name) and the catchiest hooks of any song this year so far. A few years back, there was a whole heap of promise surrounding early Bullet For My Valentine. Many now consider that star to be burnt out, and there’s a hole forming at the forefront of the modern metal scene. Step up Night Verses<\/strong>, who are showing similar levels of promise after releasing their mammoth debut album ‘Lift Your Existence’<\/em> earlier this year. They’re supporting letlive.<\/strong> on tour next month, and could be one to look out for as potential show-stealers. You’ll be hearing a lot from this band in future for sure, so why not start now? I’ve witnessed this band go from strength to strength over the past 2 years and it’s 100% deserved through sheer hard work and commitment. Their frenetic nature puts them above the rest and ‘Trogloraptor’<\/em> showcases the unique talent and abilities this chaotic bunch possess. PS. The video is epic and DZ Deathrays inspired. After their recent performances at Reading and Leeds Festival I’m even more excited for the impending release of Decade<\/strong>’s debut album. If ‘Brainfreeze’<\/em> is anything to go by it’s going to be one catchy mother! Make sure you catch them on tour next month supporting Tonight Alive, I promise you won’t regret it! Attention Thieves<\/strong> know how to create impressive anthems that roar with energy. After a few difficult months, which saw frontman Alex Green suffer a slipped disc and contract whooping cough, this Reading quartet are gearing up to release their stunning EP ‘Hard Truths’<\/em> – their single ‘I Swear’<\/em> is one of the highlights, and I suggest you check them out now!
