With their recent single, ‘Don’t Close Your Eyes,’<\/em> rising Belgian metalcore band Set Things Right\u00a0<\/strong>have produced a focused, hard-hitting yet accessible number that is bound to get them noticed in the coming months.<\/p>\n The Antwerp band recently took some time out to take part in our “If I…” <\/strong>question where all five members; Tom Welslau (vocals), Jos De Roeck (Bass), Kristof Du Jardin: (guitar), James Falck (guitar) and Maarten De Roeck (drums\/samples) told us which bands they’d like to play with, who would play their ideal festival and much more.<\/p>\n If your band would like to be featured as part of \u201cIf I\u2026\u201d full details can be found\u00a0here<\/a><\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n If I could re-record one song it would be\u2026<\/strong> Maarten: Goodbye <\/em><\/p>\n Tom: Goodbye<\/em><\/p>\n If I could re-live one tour\/show it would be\u2026<\/strong> M: Artisjrock Jo: Stormfest (Belgium) <\/em><\/p>\n James: Jera On Air last year, even though I didn’t play it. Definitely the biggest venue for our genre of music. In the UK – Download. In the US – Warped Tour. <\/em><\/p>\n T: Warped Tour.<\/em><\/p>\n If I could organise my own festival, the bands playing would be\u2026<\/strong> M: Paramore, Sum 41, Linkin Park, Blink 182, Set Things Right. <\/em><\/p>\n J: A mix of different genres; Slipknot, Sigur Ros, Underoath, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds. GWAR would have to make an appearance, and Set Things Right, of course.<\/em><\/p>\n If I could play any other instrument, it would be\u2026<\/strong> M: Piano.<\/em><\/p>\n Jo: Drums.<\/em><\/p>\n Ja: The accordion. <\/em><\/p>\n T: Drums<\/em><\/p>\n If I could give one piece of advice to a new band, it would be\u2026<\/strong> M: Working hard is not dreaming, dreaming is working hard. <\/em><\/p>\n Jo: Do your goddamn thing, Be a shepherd and never be a sheep! <\/em><\/p>\n Ja: Make sure you have the means and the will to do what is necessary if you want to take your band seriously.
