{"id":28569,"date":"2013-06-05T09:48:25","date_gmt":"2013-06-05T09:48:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/alreadyheard.com\/staging\/album-review-palisades-outcasts\/"},"modified":"2018-03-17T15:17:45","modified_gmt":"2018-03-17T15:17:45","slug":"album-review-palisades-outcasts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alreadyheard.com\/staging\/album-review-palisades-outcasts\/","title":{"rendered":"Album Review: Palisades &#8211; Outcasts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/imageshack.us\/a\/img708\/9835\/palisades.jpg\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><strong>Palisades<\/strong><span> are an American heavy post-hardcore group hailing from New Jersey. <\/span><em>\u2018Outcasts\u2019<\/em><span> is a powerful screamo album packed full of heavy <\/span><span>instrumentals and breakdowns, and awesome ferocious screaming, all mixed with electronic symphonies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><strong><span>Palisades<\/span><\/strong><span> worked with producer <\/span><span>Cameron Mizell who has previously worked with Woe, Is Me. To be completely honest, there are similarities between the two bands who both enjoy using electronic symphonies, however Palisades have a softer pop-punk style. The lead singer <\/span><span>Louis Miceli sounds uncannily the same as the talented The Used vocalist Bert McCracken.<\/span><!-- more --><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The album begins with <em>\u2018We Are All\u2019<\/em> which stars electronic symphonies and futuristic sounds, which then breaks down into a heavy fast paced rock track. The chorus features catchy lyrics; &ldquo;<em>come to me in your time of need when you\u2019re so alone and there\u2019s no one to run to&rdquo;<\/em>. The hit features powerful screams, and is an electrifying punchy introduction to <em>\u2018Outcasts.\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The top smash hit is <em>\u2018Your Disease\u2019<\/em> which begins with heavy vocals and aggressive hard-hitting riffs. The entire track is angry and powerful, with a mesmerising melody and an outstanding chorus. The instrumentals are furiously fast-paced with fantastic prevailing drums. The track is enhanced by the electronic elements that work superbly alongside the instrumental talent.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv463287598msonormal\"><span>The other favourite is <em>\u2018A Disasterpiece\u2019 <\/em>which has a speedy beat and stars American <\/span><span>catchy pop-punk vocals, giving the fans something to sing along to. The track stars more ferocious vocals and screams, with more futuristic sounds. The whole track is simply a hit with the gripping melody and awesome chorus; you can\u2019t help but sing and dance along. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv463287598msonormal\"><span>The song <em>\u2018A.I\u2019<\/em> has a real pop-punk feel with gentler vocals and little screams. The chorus is absolutely fantastic and cleverly catchy with thrilling lyrics such as the following, &ldquo;<\/span><em><span>I like it better when I&rsquo;m made of bolts\/ no human flesh could withstand the threshold\/ I recommend advice to all my friends\/ you&rsquo;ll never have to be alone again.&rdquo;<\/span><\/em><span>\u00a0The instrumental talent is outstanding, and the sweet soft electronic sounds add an angelic touch to the closing.<span>\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv463287598msonormal\"><span>It\u2019s obvious that <strong>Palisades<\/strong> are a talented bunch, and <em>\u2018Outcasts\u2019<\/em> is a fantastic heavy hardcore album filled with tremendous instrumentals, brutal screams and incredible melodies. However, it\u2019s nothing new, the screamo genre is packed full of talented groups already. <em>\u2018Outcasts\u2019<\/em> is nothing original, creative or innovative; I\u2019ve heard it all before.
