{"id":29945,"date":"2013-04-04T16:24:20","date_gmt":"2013-04-04T16:24:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/alreadyheard.com\/staging\/album-review-bleed-from-within-uprising\/"},"modified":"2018-03-17T15:14:57","modified_gmt":"2018-03-17T15:14:57","slug":"album-review-bleed-from-within-uprising","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alreadyheard.com\/staging\/album-review-bleed-from-within-uprising\/","title":{"rendered":"Album Review: Bleed From Within &#8211; Uprising"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"left\" alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/imageshack.us\/a\/img600\/3311\/bleedfromwithinc.jpg\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<p><span>Scotland\u2019s <strong>Bleed From Within<\/strong> already has a handful of albums under their belt, and this metal band\u2019s newest release <em>\u2018Uprising\u2019 <\/em>is a perfect example of the intensity you want out of metal with the added bonus of expertly balanced tracks and fiercely played instruments.<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>Beginning with <em>&lsquo;III&rsquo;<\/em>, an intro that eases you into an incredibly powerful album and bleeds right into the next track, \u2018<em>Colony.\u2019 <\/em>This track sets the tone for the album. It has a huge sound with multiple rhythms and layers of sounds, and somehow they manage to create melody without melodic clean vocalists.<\/span><!-- more --><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>The band actually works together to create melodic moments. From the screamers using rhythm and the guitars using intricate riffs, there are hooks everywhere. \u2018<em>Colony,\u2019 Nothing No One Nowhere,\u2019 <\/em>and <em>\u2018Strive\u2019 <\/em>are great examples of this ability.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>This melody is compounded with the balance <strong>Bleed From Within <\/strong>has created. Nothing is highlighted outright. It isn\u2019t about the vocals or the guitars; it is about how everything comes together. It is present on every track, and makes the whole album very consistent. <em>\u2018I Am Oblivion\u2019 <\/em>and<em> \u2018Devotion\u2019 <\/em>bring in moments of calm that break up the unrelenting pace of this album.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>And it really is unrelenting. From the moment it starts, this band is in your face with everything they have. <em>\u2018Escape Yourself\u2019 <\/em>is frantic and anxious and crazy fast, <em>\u2018Uprising\u2019 <\/em>brings a ferocious intensity that doesn\u2019t quit.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>On top of all of this is the weight to this album. Tracks like <em>\u2018Our Divide\u2019 <\/em>bring forward the substance in \u2018<em>Uprising,\u2019 <\/em>with lyrics that are thought provoking and meaningful, and this is on top of the intricate rhythms and riffs and epic sound. Each song sticks to your ribs like a proper English breakfast. They can stand alone but they all come together into a huge explosion of noise that somehow works.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><em><span>\u2018Uprising\u2019 <\/span><\/em><span>is an all-around solid metal album. The screams are different enough on each track to keep the album from becoming boring.
