Since their inception in 1998, New York outfit <\/span>Mrs Skanotto <\/strong>have spent the past 15 years releasing albums and playing shows, honing their unique ska-punk sound. However, with the release of \u2018All These Evolutions\u2019<\/em>, it seems that they haven\u2019t done themselves much justice.<\/span><\/p>\n

To be the honest, the album simply isn\u2019t dynamic and grabbing enough; tracks such as \u2018Wage War\u2019<\/em> and \u2018Everyday\u2019<\/em> simply fall flat. Despite possessing strong vocals, the guitar work seems sluggish and there\u2019s a lack of much-needed energy. The use of a trombone throughout the majority of their tracks, namely \u2018Lost & Found\u2019<\/em> and \u2018Everyday\u2019<\/em>, makes the song too crowded \u2013 it makes it difficult to pick out what\u2019s what.<\/span><\/p>\n

All in all, \u2018All These Evolutions\u2019<\/em> becomes a bland album, repeating itself through 14 tracks. The album doesn\u2019t do anything to reach out and grab you by the collar; it doesn\u2019t do anything to reel you in. It\u2019s rather depressing to think that Mrs Skanotto <\/strong>just created a grey, dull album.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
