We can\u2019t either.<\/p>\n<p><strong>This Drama<\/strong> is a five piece band from everyone\u2019s favourite holiday destination; and are set to release their latest record <em>\u2018The Wasted Youth\u2019<\/em> continuing their relationship with <strong>Deep Elm Records<\/strong>. Following on from 2010\u2019s <em>\u2018Tarantula Mata\u2019 <\/em>this latest offering contains four hardcore-tinged punk-rock songs and plenty of big riffs.<\/p>\n<p>Opting to open your record with the done to death method of samples of feedback is boring and adds absolutely nothing to a track, let\u2019s just get straight down to business please. <em>\u2018Take it (Leave It)\u2019<\/em> is something of a riff fest. Not exactly a straight up punk-rock song; more of hybrid of punk fused with glam rock with something of a sunshine tinge to it. Asdrubal Marichal\u2019s vocals contain a real raw bite and punch to them and a likeability that many similar bands\u2019 vocals simply lack. The vocals really do add to the overall hardcore sound found throughout the song.<!-- more --><\/p>\n<p>&amp;amp;amp;lt;a href=\u201dhttp:\/\/deepelmdigital.com\/album\/the-wasted-youth\u201d data-mce-href=\u201dhttp:\/\/deepelmdigital.com\/album\/the-wasted-youth\u201d&amp;amp;amp;gt;The Wasted Youth by This Drama&amp;amp;amp;lt;\/a&amp;amp;amp;gt;<\/p>\n<p>Second track <em>\u2018Bleed Passion, Buy Fashion\u2019<\/em> sounds like homage to the early music of Suicidal Tendencies and Anthrax, with some of the swagger of Velvet Revolver thrown into the mix. In many ways it could be considered an anthem; catchy and very memorable.<\/p>\n<p>The remaining tracks on the EP do come across as a tad generic but with only four tracks on offer it\u2019s a tough ask to show off your more leftfield ideas. The bands rhythm section is equally impressive as is the guitar work found on offer throughout. Although the songs perhaps sound a little tired that\u2019s not to say that the musicianship on display is sub-par. They can really play their instruments.
