This upcoming six track EP entitled <\/span><em>\u2018Restless\u2019 <\/em><span>acts as a taster of things to come.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>This EP sees the band delivering hooks and a catchy vibe in firm balance with the usual rocking energy the band are known for. The wording of vocalist Miles on <em>\u2018Spare Ribs\u2019<\/em> flows wonderfully with the music, whilst <em>\u2018Die Nullte\u2019 <\/em>kicks off with a steady drum fill with lurching riffs and bass eventually coming in at full throttle. <em>\u2018Somebody to Blame\u2019<\/em> is a definite highlight of the band\u2019s formula on display here; a prominent bass leads the charge as moaning guitars grasp go up and around the main current before launching into a rocking chorus.<\/span><!-- more --><\/p>\n<p>&lt;a href=&ldquo;http:\/\/arteries.bandcamp.com\/album\/restless&rdquo; data-mce-href=&ldquo;http:\/\/arteries.bandcamp.com\/album\/restless&rdquo;&gt;Restless by The Arteries&lt;\/a&gt;<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>The main theme of the record involves the subject of one\u2019s problems catching up with them and finding a lack of solutions. The main chorus of <em>\u2018Grow Up\u2019 <\/em>sums this up marvellously with the line <em>\u201cThere\u2019s no hope when you\u2019re running away\u201d<\/em>which rides along the usual catchiness of the band\u2019s magic.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>As an EP, <em>\u2018Restless\u2019<\/em> shows <strong>The Arteries <\/strong>with their most mature offering to date, continuing in the same structure of melodically entwined rock \u2018n roll punk promise that their earlier releases showed. Sure it may be short, but it provides an enjoyable taster to what\u2019s to come from this Welsh band.
