Upon hearing that Birmingham-based George Gadd<\/strong> is an acoustic singer\/songwriter, many will automatically jump to the conclusion that he sounds like Ed Sheeran\/Ben Howard\/City & Colour<\/em>. But after hearing his latest EP \u2018Thorneloe\u2019<\/em>, this talented young man is anything but those aforementioned artists.<\/p>\n

Opening track \u2018Bride\/Beast\u2019<\/em> is a minute and a half of sweeping vocals and sweet guitars. Moving swiftly onto \u2018Women I Belong To\u2019<\/em>, folk-inspired acoustic guitars are featured while George\u2019s vocals climb ever higher.<\/p>\n

His honest lyrics are heart-wrenching, and once you listen to this EP, you want more and more. \u2018Leave Me in The Dark\u2019<\/em> and \u2018Glass Bottom Boat\u2019<\/em> both demonstrate his talent. Soaring vocals and roaring choruses make for beautiful tracks.<\/p>\n

Closing track \u2018Dutch Courage\u2019<\/em> is a perfect way to end this colourful EP; a toe-tapping track, we\u2019re thirsting for more from George Gadd.<\/p>\n
