Despite only being five tracks in length, the band have managed to prove to their fans that they\u2019re capable of excellent things, making a solid mark on the post-hardcore map. <\/span><br \/><span><\/span><br \/><span>Opening track <em>\u2018<\/em><\/span><em>House on the Rocks\u2019 <\/em><span>defines <\/span><span>Cascades<\/span><span> sound, with their post-hardcore influences being twisted and experimented with to create an alternative take on the genre. Their two vocalist structure combining elements of both sung and screamed vocals is typical post-hardcore etiquette, although having said that Keaton Pierce and Michael Morton possess strong vocal abilities and bounce off each other to produce fantastic substance. <!-- more --><\/span><\/p>\n<p><em>\u2018Once Upon A Time In Mexico\u2019<\/em><span> features Sleeping With Siren\u2019s vocalist Kellin Quinn whose versatile vocals compliment <\/span><span>Cascades<\/span><span> sounds producing a very strong track for the EP. Adding a third vocalist to the track adds even more substance to the structures than in previous songs and although it might be assumed this could make the track sound messy, <\/span><span>Cascades<\/span><span> manage to pull it off successfully.<\/span><br \/><span><\/span><br \/><span>The title track closes the EP and\u00a0<em>\u2018<\/em><\/span><em>Faceless People in Faraway Places\u2019 <\/em><span>is a great way to round of the record. Forget the breakdowns with this song: the sextet experiment with the slower side of their genre, proving that <\/span><span>Cascades <\/span><span>musical abilities don\u2019t just lie in the heavier areas of post-hardcore. <\/span><br \/><span><\/span><br \/><span>Whether the gritty recording of the EP was intentional or not it, works well for <\/span><span>Cascades<\/span><span> whose influences would sit out of place on a crisp sounding record. <em>\u2018<\/em><\/span><em>Faceless People in Faraway Places\u2019<\/em><span> is made up of a great set of songs and <\/span><span>Cascades<\/span><span> have hit the nail on the head with this EP, implementing their post-hardcore influences and experimenting to create a more individual sound.
