\"\"Italian Hardcore\/Screamo band,\u00a0Hopes Die Last<\/strong> recently released their second album “Trust No One”<\/em> through Standby Records. The album release follows their recent UK tour supporting US metalcore heavyweights\u00a0Attack! Attack!\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

With an album filled with heavy, pummeling tracks like “Unleash Hell” and “Never Trust the Hazel Eyed,” the Rome-based quintet combine thick riffs with clean, melodic vocals. On top of that, “Trust No One"\u00a0<\/em>sees the band collaborating with electronic\/dubstep artist\u00a0Nekso<\/strong>, as well as covering Katy Perry’s "Fireworks.”<\/p>\n

Already Heard caught up with the band to talk about a number of topics from singing with Standby Records to covering Katy Perry and more.<\/p>\n

Already Heard: Can you tell us your name and role in Hopes Die Last?<\/strong>
Hopes Die Last: Sure! I\u2019m Daniele\u00a0<\/em>Tofani\u00a0<\/em>and I\u2019m the singer of Hopes Die Last.<\/em><\/p>\n

AH: Being a band from Italy, how did you join up with a US label like Standby Records?<\/strong>
Hopes Die Last: They got in touch with us through our Myspace profile many years ago (when Myspace was still useful and functional for bands) and from that moment a long-lasting working relationship is born, and still it continues through the years.<\/em><\/p>\n

AH: You’ve just released your new album ‘Trust No One.’<\/em> What should people know about it if they haven’t heard it?<\/strong>
Hopes Die Last: In\u00a0"Trust\u00a0No One" we\u00a0decided not to place any kind of limitations in terms of composition\u00a0and we tried to\u00a0experiment as much as\u00a0possible (although\u00a0being post-hardcore, it might sound difficult to think),\u00a0going\u00a0beyond\u00a0those\u00a0walls that\u00a0are created\u00a0automatically\u00a0during\u00a0the composition,\u00a0using\u00a0and experimenting\u00a0with sounds\u00a0and arrangements.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Everything was\u00a0on the go since a couple\u00a0of years,\u00a0but for bureaucratic reasons we\u2019ve had to postpone its release. But this break, preceding the release, allowed us\u00a0to revise and make useful changes.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

AH: On the record you recorded a cover of Katy Perry’s ‘Fireworks.’ What decision behind recording that track?<\/strong>
Hopes Die Last: It started as a joke. When we first heard of that song on the radio we thought that if we would have tried to make it in Hopes Die Last style, we could expect some cool result. So we did. We re-arranged and recorded. And I am still very proud of the way it came out. But as I\u2019ve said before, it was just a game for us, I think our experience with covers is over. We have much more interesting material and ideas to give, fruit of our minds and hands. We don\u2019t need to get more stuff from the others.<\/em><\/p>\n

AH: What has the feedback for the cover been like?<\/strong>
Hopes Die Last: There was\u00a0already a\u00a0fairly positive\u00a0feedback\u00a0about\u00a0the cover,\u00a0although for\u00a0us it was\u00a0just a game. The\u00a0views\u00a0on Youtube\u00a0and sales on iTunes\u00a0speak for themselves.<\/em><\/p>\n

AH: Are there any other pop songs you would like to cover?<\/strong>
Hopes Die Last: No I don\u2019t think so.<\/em><\/p>\n

AH: You also collaborated with an electronic artist called Nekso. Can you tell us more about Nekso and how the collaboration happen?<\/strong>
Hopes Die Last: Nekso is a big friend of ours, and what we\u2019ve done with him so far has been incredibly inspiring, and we want to continue this collaboration because whenever we sit down and work together, something incredibly insane comes out. So expect more sick stuff in the future!<\/em><\/p>\n

AH: The resulting track is called ‘Here Comes Nero.’<\/em> What can you tell us about it?<\/strong>
Hopes Die Last: ‘Here comes\u00a0Nero’<\/em>\u00a0was the\u00a0first experiment\u00a0with\u00a0Neks\u00f8,\u00a0the result\u00a0is a heavy-influenced\u00a0dubstep song. Some of\u00a0our fans\u00a0will not like it\u00a0but we were very proud of that, and we thought it could\u2019ve been a good product to\u00a0release.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

AH: Late last year you toured the UK and Europe with Attack! Attack!. How did these shows go?<\/strong>
Hopes Die Last: It was\u00a0insane!\u00a0Attack! Attack! are\u00a0really\u00a0nice guys\u00a0and\u00a0we had\u00a0a good\u00a0time with them and\u00a0Bury\u00a0Tomorrow too!\u00a0It was absolutely one of the coolest\u00a0tour\u00a0we have ever done.<\/em><\/p>\n

AH: Has there been more interest in Hopes Die Last since that tour?<\/strong>
Hopes Die Last: Absolutely! We\u2019ve\u00a0had the chance to\u00a0play in front of\u00a01000\u00a0people every night, our\u00a0fan base in UK\u00a0is definitely\u00a0growing.<\/em><\/p>\n

AH: What can we expect from Hopes Die Last for the rest of 2012?<\/strong>
Hopes Die Last: We will be promoting the record and touring all over the world, so keep checking our Facebook page or updates.<\/em><\/p>\n

AH: What up and coming bands from Italy would you recommend checking out?<\/strong>
Hopes Die Last: Everyone should go and listen to Fear The Sirens, Ready Set Fall, Astrid Hotel, Swanshore and Avenue of Heroes.<\/em><\/p>\n

AH: Is there anything else you’d like to say or should know about Hopes Die Last?<\/strong>
