Their global trail of mass destruction comes to an explosive close with their sixth studio album <i>\u2018Dissociation\u2019<\/i>, and at what can arguably be said to be the height of their career, they&rsquo;re going to be a hard act to part with.<\/p>\n<p>The album kicks off in unsurprising fashion with the mental and massive <i>\u2018Limerent Death\u2019<\/i>, packed full of brutal intricacy and erratic time signature changes that are startlingly complex. <i>\u2018Symptom Of A Terminal Illness\u2019<\/i> steps back from the madness momentarily as vocalist Greg Puciato takes a break from his raw screams and displays his dark, brooding and talented cleans.<\/p>\n<p><!-- more --><\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re spat back into the chaos with <i>\u2018Wanting Not So Much To As To\u2019<\/i>, driven by Billy Rymer\u2019s insanely paced attack behind the drum kit. It\u2019s also worth noting <b>TDEP<\/b>\u2019s ability to dip in and out of, well, whatever the hell they want, as becomes obvious with the dark electronic soundscape of <i>\u2018Fugue\u2019<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>The volatile changes of <i>\u2018Low Feels Blvd\u2019<\/i> are mind boggling as we\u2019re thrown from mathcore to jazz infusions, while <i>\u2018Nothing To Forget\u2019<\/i> sees Puciato create an antonymic misbalance with his snarling screams and somehow soothing singing. Closing with the orchestral landscape of title track <i>\u2018Dissociation\u2019<\/i>, a somewhat melodic and slow ending seems fitting as the curtain sadly draws on their final album.<\/p>\n<p><i>\u2018Dissociation\u2019<\/i> is a righteous but bittersweet goodbye to a genuinely unique band. It\u2019s a nice touch that <b>TDEP<\/b> haven\u2019t tried to create something ground breaking (let\u2019s face it, they\u2019ve already done that) or career topping for their finale, but rather stick to what they do best.
