Following 2014\u2019s <i>\u2018You Can Do Better\u2019<\/i>, <i>\u2018Mono No Aware\u2019<\/i> is a breath of fresh air to a scene that\u2019s hard to keep up with and lead singer Alexei Berrow states, <i>\u201cI am way too emotionally invested to tell you objectively if this next record is awesome or a failure. Or worse, somewhere in the middle.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Opening with the raw acoustic <i>\u2018Mounts Everest\u2019<\/i> we are welcomed back to the smooth harmonisations of Berrow and bassist Kelly Southern\u2019s warm vocal tones mixed with melancholy guitar. Next, <i>\u2018Undevestator\u2019<\/i> is packed full of energy with a synth-y, warped entrance and the crunch of indie rock percussion making its mark once again. <i>\u2018I Can Show You The Way To Grand Central\u2019<\/i> borders on pop roots whilst keeping their truly original touch. <!-- more --><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Later on, Berrow\u2019s fears of being <i>\u201csomewhere in the middle\u201d<\/i> are truly abolished as <i>\u2018Our Lifestyles Incandescent\u2019<\/i> welcomes a harmonisation of female vocals and seems to be another acoustic track but is later joined by fuzzed out guitar and group vocals which will turn to be a crowd pleaser for sure. <i>\u2018Into The Veldt\u2019<\/i> is similar as it once again welcomes the unified bouncy group vocals and is a pinnacle of the sound that they pride themselves on. <\/p>\n<p><i>\u2018All Yr Favourite Bands Are Dead\u2019<\/i> is a perfect finale showcasing their catalogue of ideas. Unless that is you stick around for bubbly bonus track <i>\u2018Flooding\u2019<\/i>, a sweet treat that is packed with energy from start to finish. <\/p>\n<p><b>Johnny Foreigner<\/b> have truly put their all into the album that celebrates 10 years\u2019 work to maintain their classic sound and is one lovely listen from all the way through. <\/p>\n<p>5\/5<\/p>\n<p><em>\u2019Mono No Aware\u2019<\/em> by <strong>Johnny Foreigner<\/strong> is released on 8th July via <strong>Alcopop!
