In a society that tries to keep everyone on their knees, turning negativity into strength is how to push back.<\/p>\n

Sixth album \u2018Reverence\u2019<\/i> may open with barren desert soundscapes and acoustic chords reminiscent of \u2018American\u2019 era Johnny Cash. But as Winston McCall\u2019s speaks about finding God and “burying him with the ones he keeps”<\/em>\u00a0and \u2018Wishing Wells\u2019<\/i> detonates into metalcore fret-pummeling layered with gold-plated lead guitar flourishes, \u2018Reverence\u2019<\/i> quickly sees Byron Bay godfathers pick up where \u2018Ire\u2019<\/i>\u00a0left off.<\/p>\n

Themes of anger, loss and by despair always been the Parkway<\/b> standard, but on \u2018Reverence\u2019<\/i> this overall feeling is less \u2018Killing With a Smile\u2019<\/i> and more reflecting with a sigh of regret. Championing this maturation process most is Winston, who completes his metamorphosis from \u2018Ire\u2019<\/i> into a more versatile frontman.<\/p>\n
