Seven albums down the line, Killswitch Engage<\/b> have produced a near flawless chapter to add to their 17-year legacy.<\/p>\n

Showcasing beyond any doubt that the return of frontman Jesse Leach was the smartest move the Massachusetts madmen ever made, \u2018Incarnate\u2019<\/i> is thoughtfully crafted and consuming from the off. There\u2019s no room for error and it goes to show the three years working up to this point have been spent remarkably well. <\/p>\n

Opener \u2018Alone I Stand\u2019<\/i> packs an assertive punch before a phenomenal solo from \u2018Hate by Design\u2019<\/i> floors all expectations while parading Jesse\u2019s untouched chops. The visceral \u2018Cut Me Loose\u2019<\/i> supports the voluminous \u2018Strength of the Mind,\u2019<\/i> pulling out one of their most powerful lyrics yet \u2013 \u201cI\u2019ve seen rock bottom and I\u2019ve smashed my fist against it.\u201d<\/i> <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The limitless tempo of \u2018Just Let Go\u2019<\/i> shows Jesse\u2019s range as poignant as ever, demonstrating a significant degree of progression toward fantastically fresh production. Testament to drummer Justin Foley\u2019s instructive leadership, \u2018Embrace the Journey… Upraised\u2019<\/i> intensely projects a tale of morality, while the acoustic unrest of \u2018Quiet Distress\u2019<\/i> hopes to wash the blood away and move along.<\/p>\n

The face-melting, album-stealing \u2018Until the Day I Die\u2019<\/i> projects deep-rooted anguish at a racing pace that we know and love from the Westfield mob. While a similar venomous depth speaks volumes amid \u2018It Falls On Me\u2019<\/i>, \u2018We Carry On\u2019<\/i>’s melodic solidarity refuses to succumb, while closer \u2018Ascension\u2019<\/i> rounds off the journey with vengeance laced with furious rage.<\/p>\n

Rest assured, \u2018Incarnate\u2019<\/i> is a hair away from Killswitch Engage<\/b>\u2019s best work to date. It\u2019s a powerful reminder that there was a time not too long ago when folk doubted their longevity, but here they are cracking out yet another gorgeous opus.<\/p>\n
