Good old rock \u2018n\u2019 roll isn\u2019t a hard concept to grasp, but it\u2019s a tricky one to master, yet the hands of Jon Harvey et al make it appear effortless. As corny as their name may be, stick with them, because you\u2019re guaranteed to be taken on a rocking balls-to-the-wall rodeo.<!-- more --><\/p>\n<p>Establishing a gritty rock \u2018n\u2019 roll ethos, opener <i>\u2018Why Are You Not Rocking?\u2019<\/i> sets a fine pace. Meanwhile, a cleverly-crafted melody drives every element of <i>\u2018Don\u2019t Tell Me How To Live\u2019<\/i>, brimming with electric vitality and independence. As you\u2019d expect, there\u2019s smooth, undeniable American themes throughout. <i>\u2018Black Forest\u2019<\/i> emerges as laid back and bereft as a late night crawl to a grungy motel in the middle of nowhere, while <i>\u2018Things Get Better\u2019<\/i> projects itself with road trip-ready swagger and the ice hockey vengeance of <i>\u2018The Enforcer\u2019<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of an irresistibly dangerous female, ticking a generic classic rock box in record time, <i>\u2018She\u2019s A Witch\u2019<\/i> showcases punchy, raspy vocals from to echo the golden days of rock. In contrast, the protective <i>\u2018New Soul\u2019<\/i> hopes for an exclamation of love, calling out, <i>\u201cWrap your arms around me now and never let me go.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p>While <i>\u2018For The People\u2019<\/i> and <i>\u2018Another Man\u2019s Shoes\u2019<\/i> may at first appear repetitive, their familiarity and biker-esque solidarity prove comforting as opposed to grating.
