Now a triplet of finely-tuned artists endeavouring to provide a soundtrack to heartache, their history now spans two decades and not one iota of <i>\u2018Breathe Again\u2019<\/i> suggests they\u2019re done any time soon.<\/p>\n<p>Opening on the aggressive polarity of <i>\u2018Walking In My Dreams\u2019<\/i>, vocalist Matt Baird immediately brings his storming anguished lyrics to life crying, <i>\u201cI\u2019m afraid to fall asleep cos you\u2019ll be waiting for me.\u201d<\/i> His range reaches near impossible highs, particularly while <i>\u2018Beyond The Stars\u2019<\/i> bursts with passionate rhythm.<!-- more --><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>To a menacing techy groove, <i>\u2018Surrender\u2019<\/i> emerges as somewhat repetitive, but at least it\u2019s clear in its aims to provide strength in numbers. Meanwhile, the title track plunges into a darkly intense tone, inquisitive and driven by determined fretwork and a guest spot from Memphis May Fire\u2019s Matty Mullins, while <i>\u2018Hollow And Untrue\u2019<\/i>s sombre tones descend into half-hearted venom before long, accompanied by screams echoing classic 30 Seconds To Mars and a priceless noodling solo to boot. <\/p>\n<p>An ethereal fight for desire, <i>\u2018Memories Are Alive\u2019<\/i> contains beautiful heartfelt pleas amid a seductive, reflective lull to reinforce the melodic despair and lighter-waving heartache of <i>\u2018Nothing Without You\u2019<\/i>. <i>\u201cI will let you down, don\u2019t waste your faith on me,\u201d<\/i> Matt scolds alongside the inspired solo of <i>\u2018Poison In The Air\u2019<\/i>, while the glistening opening notes of <i>\u2018Falling Apart\u2019<\/i> soon evolve into a catchy melody fit for their modest 20 year history.
