Durham indie-pop trio T-Shirt Weather<\/strong> have been on our\u00a0radar for quite some time. After rearing their heads with a handful of releases, they returned earlier this month with the release of their second album – ‘Dinner and a Show’.<\/em> Blending weathered lyricism with charming DIY hooks, songs such as ‘Scratches’<\/em> and ‘Beak of a Bird’<\/em> have a springy, bright delivery and that’s despite the album covering topics such as\u00a0dwindling mental health, alcohol abuse, kissing the wrong people and trying to understand yourself better in the bigger picture.<\/p>\n Today, we’re teaming up with the band and Everything Sucks Music<\/strong> to premiere their new video for ‘My Dad’s Blue Motion’.<\/em> “Filmed in Durham at Stevo\u2019s Bar and Grill (.est 1969) during a scheduled refurbishment. Grand reopening 2018,” the clip\u00a0sees guitarist Tom and bassist Andy trying (and often failing) to sing karaoke to their own song, while drummer Patxi watches it all unfold from the comfort of his sofa with a mug of Yorkshire tea.<\/p>\n The track itself is a plucky, post-punk number that sees the trio firmly play into calling them “your dad’s new favourite band”. On the track, the Durham lads had this to say:<\/p>\n “\u2018My Dad\u2019s Blue Motion\u2019 is a sequel of sorts to \u2018My Dad\u2019s Black Polo\u2019, from previous album ‘Pig Beach’. It calls to mind the songs that come on as you drive alone at night in your dad\u2019s car. These songs become the soundtrack to the breakdown in a relationship as the song reminds you that trying your best can\u2019t always work… Have you ever been with a boy with a peanut allergy?”<\/em><\/p>\n
