So frequent is the conversation surrounding Sinsaenum<\/strong> as the next “big name supergroup”, that the discussion of egos often dominates their artistic creation. The six-piece may boast some impressive names, including Joey Jordison (ex-Slipknot, Vimic), Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Leclercq (Dragonforce), and Attila Csihar (Mayhem), but their debut album \u2018Echoes of the Tortured\u2019<\/em> and follow-up EP \u2018Ashes\u2019<\/em> have all the drive and hunger of a band determined to prove their worth.<\/p>\n

As soon as one presses play on \u2018Repulsion for Humanity\u2019,<\/i> its title track reveals that Sinsaenum<\/b> aren\u2019t taking things lightly for record number two. Packed with frantic blast beats, shredding guitar solos and stone-plated growls from vocalists Csihar and Sean Zatorsky, the track catapults listeners into a rush of heart-pounding death metal.<\/p>\n

While \u2018Echoes of the Tortured\u2019<\/i> is a chasm of lightning-paced riffs split by the occasional 40-second interlude, \u2018Repulsion of Humanity\u2019<\/i> is a more refined effort with emphasis on catchier hooks. Choruses such as the \u2018Rise from the dead, from the kingdom below\u2019<\/i> chants on \u2018Rise of the Light Bearer\u2019<\/i> fit into compact melodies where each syllable could be chanted back by festival-sized crowds. At the same time tracks like \u2018Rise\u2026\u2019<\/i> and \u2018Sacred Martyr\u2019<\/i> uphold the frenetic pace of \u2018Echoes\u2026\u2019<\/i> perfectly.<\/p>\n
