Containing music from two of the emo scenes more interesting groups, this sweepingly beautiful EP includes the first new material from Moving Mountains<\/b> since their short hiatus, which started in 2013 .<\/p>\n

Having been probably the last great emo band signed by Deep Elm \u2013 indeed 2007\u2019s \u2018Pneuma\u2019<\/i> has itself just been re-released by those bastions of good taste at Topshelf \u2013 it\u2019s great to hear how they\u2019ve progressed and as such how the break has influenced their songwriting. <\/p>\n

The results are two songs which give the new Foxing album, the brilliant \u2018Dealer\u2019<\/i>, a run for their money as the most gorgeous songs you will hear all year. In particular, \u2019Abby Normal\u2019<\/i> is achingly majestic; a soaring, wonderfully-arranged anthem that will make you shiver. The second cut, the meandering \u2018Deathless\u2019<\/i> is no less impressive, albeit more relaxed.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

There\u2019s been no need for a break for Prawn<\/b> to get into the right headspace, though. Last year\u2019s killer \u2018Kingfisher\u2019<\/i> was a real gem and the two tracks on offer here are every bit as good \u2013 if not better \u2013 than anything they\u2019ve done before.<\/p>\n

And, although they\u2019re classic Prawn<\/b>, rich with math-lite textures, brilliantly inventive percussion and brimming with heart, they\u2019re just a little more immediate than the offerings found on the dense \u2018Kingfisher\u2019<\/i>. \u2018Slopes\u2019<\/i> probably edges it out of the two, or the swell of sounds and emotions on \u2018Seas\u2019<\/i> is a real delight.<\/p>\n
