Artists like Muskets, Basement, and<em> &#8216;Floral Green&#8217;<\/em>-era Title Fight are key examples of this, drawing from bands like The Smashing Pumpkins and Pixies. New York&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Elemantra<\/strong> are no different and are looking to be heard above the rest of the revolution. Their third album,\u00a0<em>&#8216;To Know Better&#8217;<\/em>, is a meandering love letter to alt-rock, with some modern flair, and the band&#8217;s hope of integration into the thriving UK scene.<\/p>\n<p>The album hits all the notes of their inspirations, with <em>&#8216;Such Tiny Fish&#8217;\u00a0<\/em>sounding something like a Sunny Day Real Estate\/Jimmy Eat World crossover, and\u00a0<em>&#8216;I Took That&#8217;\u00a0<\/em>having the bouncing heaviness offset with softer verses that gained The Smashing Pumpkins some traction.<br \/>\n<iframe style=\"border: 0; width: 100%; height: 120px;\" src=\"https:\/\/bandcamp.com\/EmbeddedPlayer\/album=3989828653\/size=large\/bgcol=ffffff\/linkcol=0687f5\/tracklist=false\/artwork=small\/transparent=true\/\" seamless=\"\"><a href=\"http:\/\/elemantraband.bandcamp.com\/album\/a-good-man-single\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">A Good Man (single) by elemantra<\/a><\/iframe>Unfortunately, none of the songs seem to have as much impact as the one&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Elemantra\u00a0<\/strong>are trying to replicate. There are some good portions of songs that are memorable, like the 70s cop show guitar work on\u00a0<em>&#8216;A Good Man&#8217;<\/em>, but the rest of the album is forgettable at best.
