A concrete concept of hatred and livid rage hasn\u2019t emerged from the Vegas outfit this vividly in many years, and as a consequence \u2018Hate Me\u2019<\/i> is a breath of fresh red-misted air. With extravagant production to emphasise every atom of wrath, once again Escape the Fate<\/b> have proved their worth ahead of a storming UK headlining tour.<\/p>\n

The deceptively calm opening soon booms into Thrasher\u2019s signature chaos for \u2018Just a Memory\u2019<\/i>, presenting frontman Craig Mabbitt\u2019s vocals as punishingly versatile as ever before. Atmospheric and brutal from the onset, \u2018Hate Me\u2019<\/i> heralds a new Escape the Fate<\/b> that chooses to set forgiveness aside and snap that, \u201cI\u2019m coming for you and I\u2019m out for blood.\u201d<\/i> Toweringly defiant in its aims of revenge also, \u2018Live for Today\u2019<\/i> stands tall alongside the confidence of \u2018Remember Every Scar\u2019<\/i>, demonstrative in its powerful tones throughout. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u201cThe world\u2019s not out of focus, it\u2019s just what you\u2019ve become,\u201d<\/i> scathes \u2018Breaking Me Down\u2019<\/i>, a solemn reflection accompanied by an as ever captivating solo and beautiful instrumental atmosphere. Before long, however, the incendiary \u2018Get Up, Get Out\u2019<\/i> spits vitriol to crank the pace up once again, never ones for leaving the tone on the down-low for too long.<\/p>\n

An appropriately venomous attack of the state of the world today, their trademark combination of distorted high notes and showcase of Mabbitt\u2019s iconic vocal range, \u2018Les Enfants Terribles\u2019<\/i> carries its message on its shoulders, confident in its aim to expose the need for social change. Similarly, the true sentiment of hatred pours throughout the unbridled bitter exchange of \u2018Alive\u2019<\/i>, heavier than we\u2019ve ever heard them before, demonstrating that as always, they will never go down without a fight. Testing further uncharted waters for them, \u2018I Won\u2019t Break\u2019<\/i> shares its proto-metalcore infusions with the title track, adding to its self-assured ethos intensified with voluminous backing vocals and techy openings.<\/p>\n

If there was any doubt that \u2018Hate Me\u2019<\/i> was anywhere near as heartfelt as last release \u2018Ungrateful\u2019<\/i>, the acoustic heartstrings of \u2018Let Me Be\u2019<\/i> draw the album to a close on a highlight, well-rounded by Thrasher\u2019s sincere electric efforts with echoes of \u2018Picture Perfect\u2019<\/i>. While any ETF<\/b> record wouldn\u2019t be complete without a gut-wrenching lament, \u2018Let Me Be\u2019<\/i> blows previous attempts out of the water single-handedly.<\/p>\n

In its acerbic sentiment, \u2018Hate Me\u2019<\/i> ticks all the boxes, assuring every Escape the Fate<\/b> record has led to this, depicting their years of experience have produced an all-round phenomenal fifth full-length \u2013 hatred never looked this good.<\/p>\n
