\"\"<\/a>The trajectory of Cloud Nothings<\/b>\u2019 career up to this point has been pretty fascinating, chronicling their rise to critical acclaim within their scene thanks to their ragged, ramshackle blend of indie-rock and noise-rock. That interest has tended to supersede actual quality though, especially when their albums have tended to be decent at best, and messy and unfocused at worst.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, that\u2019s pretty much true of \u2019Last Building Burning\u2019<\/i> too. Once again, it\u2019s another interesting album that finds Cloud Nothings<\/b> undoubtedly making the most of their melting-pot of sounds, but they\u2019ve not really advanced or made it any more listenable. That\u2019s not to say that nothing works; the manic scrappiness of opener \u2019On An Edge\u2019<\/i> and the smoky slither of \u2019So Right So Clean\u2019<\/i> both do enough to engage in a way that could definitely be improved on throughout the album.<\/p>\n
