Nine tracks on their ninth album \u2013 it makes sense. But is this release as easy to digest \u2013 so easily explained? Is there really a place for a band that\u2019s almost a quarter of a century old when the number of new exciting bands is on the increase? <strong>Saves The Day<\/strong> certainly seem to think so. Rather than trying something new, they\u2019re reflecting on where they came from. That, in itself, is charming enough.<\/p>\n<p>Opening with a track dedicated to themselves, on <em>\u2018Saves The Day\u2019 <\/em>the band look forward to the future. It doesn\u2019t sound like they\u2019ve any desire to stop making music any time soon and as Chris Conley sings <em>\u201csing a long, turn it up with Saves The Day\u201d <\/em>there\u2019s a youthful energy, the likes of which music and its nostalgia drive on year after year.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Saves The Day &quot;Side By Side&quot; (Official Music Video)\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/hNXVRs1qctQ?feature=oembed&#038;enablejsapi=1&#038;origin=https:\/\/alreadyheard.com\/staging\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><em>\u2018Suzuki\u2019 <\/em>and <em>\u2018Side By Side\u2019 <\/em>look back at the simple beginnings of starting a band: plugging in your guitar, learning <em>\u2018Stairway To Heaven\u2019<\/em> and hanging out with your friends. It\u2019s almost like looking back through an old photo album and delving into the seemingly every day but ultimately important moments. <em>\u201cThank you all forever\u201d <\/em>Conley sings, a heartfelt statement of gratitude.<\/p>\n<p>The rest of the record continues in the same vein. It never sounds like a man stuck in the memory of his youth, rather an uplifting look back at fond memories. Short but sweet, it\u2019s a quick reminisce from a band who have the comfortability of a long career behind them to do so.
