The Worcestershire trio&#8217;s second EP \u2018<em>Broken Horizons<\/em>\u2019, packs a punch from the moment you press play. Overall the EP does a fantastic job at capturing the feel and power of a live hard rock gig, it\u2019s not hard to imagine listening to <strong>State Of Ember<\/strong> in a dimly lit rock venue, surrounded by headbanging fans shouting along to Chris Tamburro\u2019s lead vocals.<\/p>\n<p>The EP starts off with the explosive \u2018<em>Time &amp; Time<\/em>\u2019, at just under three minutes long it demands the attention of the listener. The growling yet melodic vocals fit in perfectly amongst the distorted guitar riffs and driving drums.<\/p>\n<p>Across its six tracks, <strong>State Of Ember<\/strong> provides a cohesive and dynamic set of songs, For example, \u2018<em>Fear of Falling<\/em>\u2019 and \u2018<em>Wrong Turn<\/em>\u2019 sees the three-piece strip back the instrumentation in order to effectively build up the heavier sections.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"State of Ember - Time &amp; Time [OFFICIAL VIDEO]\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/tWmGVV96EMA?feature=oembed&#038;enablejsapi=1&#038;origin=https:\/\/alreadyheard.com\/staging\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>\u2018<em>Broken Horizons<\/em>\u2019 ends as it begins, with \u2018<em>Beneath Our Dreams<\/em>\u2019, a punchy track that doesn\u2019t leave you feeling disappointed. Featuring heavy instrumentation paired with powerful vocals and a killer guitar solo, this track is a great way to end the EP and leaves the listener wanting more.<\/p>\n<p><strong>State Of Ember<\/strong> manage to create a sound that is inspired by decades of heavy riff-based bands yet still maintain a modern flair.
